Straight people love to tell themselves that that word doesn't REALLY mean anything. It's a nice, clean way to wash away the guilt that comes with denying us all the basic human rights that you guys have. Try taking a walk in a queer person's shoes for a day (I'd be happy to lend you mine), and then come back and tell me that that word doesn't REALLY mean anything.

Good point. Next time someone demeans me or one of my friends with that word, instead of viewing it as an attack on our sexual preferences, I'll just assume that they're talking about something else, say, our clothes? I dunno, which fast food restaurants we like to eat at? Then maybe I won't be such a liberal who can't think outside of the box. What box is that, by the way? The box of being offended when someone demeans me because I'm queer? It's much easier to not be offended by that word when it hasn't been spat at you by idiots like Jared Swilley your whole life. Go to the dollar store and buy some opinions that make some fucking sense, then come back and talk to me.

If you want people to sympathize with you about (kinda? sorta? but you're tough about it?) getting your ass kicked, it's probably best not to go the "casual redneck homophobia" route when recounting your version of the events. Wavves guy could have charged at him with a fucking tommy gun, but by the 3rd or 4th time he dropped the "f-bomb" in that statement, i just thought, good, this homophobic prick got what he had coming to him.

Is it weird that this video made me nostalgic for a few months ago, before the Primavera debacle? Jesus, I need to get off the internet now.

Walt Whitman did the whole omitting the period thing in one of his poems, the idea being that it is a never-ending poem that takes on new life every time a new reader picks it up. It's on them to continue the journey over the coming years. Basically Gabe is Walt Whitman of the blogs. And "That 70's Show" is "Leaves of Grass". METAPHOOOOOOOORES!
