On Stereogum

Last year, the VMAs were being shown at the same time as my friend's surprise birthday party (not that anyone who was there was planning on watching them anyway). But we were all getting ready to hide because she was almost home, then someone ran into the living room and yelled "Britney's about to start!" and turned the TV on. Everyone in the room was completely silent and we all just stared for a second after it was over. Then someone went "Was that real?" I'm glad that's not happening again this time.

As someone whose main career goal is to become a cinematographer, I feel like I've already seen the only award I really care about. Not that the VMAs mean much anyway, it's most just bands I don't listen to and songs I haven't heard. Although I'm totally watching at least part of it for my-totally-inappropriate-crush Russel Brand.

I used to love Marcy Playground. They were pretty awesome. Man, I miss the 90s, such great music.

Their song "Wedding Bells" was (supposed to be) my sister and her husband's first dance. Of course, they learned the problem with requesting indie songs from a wedding DJ.

I hope E6 keeps making new songs until I die. "Gay Bar Part Two" = "My favorite song, but more of it." Or so I hope.

Yoko may not have musical talent, but she's a very talented avant-garde artist and renowned for her Dada-ist works. Courtney has no artistic talent of any kind. Comparing the two is ridiculous.

You're taking the time out to tell us that you're not remembering Heath Ledger? Um... Thanks for letting me know what a good person you are, wow.
Or are you being ironic and I'm being an idiot? It really could go either way.

Just today in my film history class we watched Network, and my teacher was talking about how it's still relevant to television today and used this show as an example. Which makes me so sad.

The thing that bothers me most is how they spell it "nite" which is the stupidest short-hand spelling of any word. It only shortens it by one letter!

I agree with reasons 2-5 but I think there was a reference to him having written papers at some point or something, although I could be making that up. And I don't think it's that crazy to think that people with serious undiagnosed illnesses to do some research and find a doctor who can help them. A lot of them choose Dr. House because he has such a good success rate. The episode with the people from Cuba was pretty ridiculous, though.
And it's a lot better than in Grey's Anatomy where about 50% of their patients die by the end of the episode.
