Not really in to Mastodon (they're just not my scene, man), but for some reason i was drawn to the guitarist's head tattoo. I don't think it looks that great, just really original. But that's enough to get points in my book.

Having lived in Oklahoma all my life, i can say i am ashamed that
a) my state legislator is wasting time deciding on an official state rock song (although the song does rock), and
b) my state legislators are afraid of t-shirts.
Honestly though we already have Oklahoma!, why do we need more songs?

I enjoy Wes Anderson's movies a lot, but i can't say i have ever really paid that much attention to the music in them. I certainly never thought the music was taking away from the film. Mr. Oldham's sweeping condemnation of almost all the music used in (mainstream, at least) movies seems a bit harsh but somewhere in there i guess he has a point:
"That’s all I ask for, that a little bit of time and respect is given to the musical part of filmmaking."
I can support that

I guess it would be more proper to submit my request via email, but i'm not really sure who i would send it to. Anyways, if you do take requests, i would like to know whats going on with The Mars Volta. Is their new album really due out in June, as wikipedia suggests?

I'm not familiar with a lot of these albums (read: not indie enough), so i guess i should get to listening. I'm a bit confused by Milk Man by Deerhoof. That's not the album i would have picked by them. The Runners Four or Apple O' are better in my opinion.

I have a general rule I go by:
if its posted on stereogum, and they have beards, its probably worth a listen.
I know that's probably not the best criteria to use to discover new music, but so far it has worked.

I love at 2:13, when the little voting ballot comes up, that it has a little Obama campaign logo (in Italian colors) as the second option. Is there anything that guy can't fix?

Guy Ritchie, Robert Downey Jr., and Sherlock Holmes... I really want to like this, but i have to agree with some of the other comments. This preview makes the movie look very unoriginal, with way too much emphasis on flash. I hope the real thing can prove me wrong.

This game looks amazing. Finally I can live out my fantasy of being a polar bear running around town wearing nothing but a speedo and boxing gloves. For a while, i thought i might be a freak for having these kinds of fantasies, but now I have been vindicated by Japanese video game makers!

I know i shouldn't post here because i don't usually watch the show and I am not a fan, but this show is so truly terrible. How can I, as a viewer, be expected to give shit about the show when the writers/JJ Abrams obviously have no idea where the hell the story is going. The story makes no sense, there are 50 characters too many, the music is fucking dumb and redundant (how many times can you insert a crescendo in a minor key?)... I am sure i could find more to complain about if i tried, but really it doesn't matter. If you enjoy the show, more power to you. I just get frustrated that everyone around me loves this show, and it seems so utterly absurd to me.
