yikes. for a guy who wrote one of the biggest songs of the decade that was in like 30 commercials and 17 movie soundtracks, and a girl who starred in a movie with will ferrel, you'd think they could afford that stuff on their own.

agreed 100% though I think Fun Fun Fun Fest may be a bit too rock and roll for your average Vampire Weekend or Animal Collective fan.

I disagree. I think there are bands that are by definition not as interesting or fun to listen to or rocking as other bands. Sure, it may be subjective, but its still the fucking truth.

the bartender is Brett from Bad Religion. I know I'm the only person on this site who would notice or care, by the way, but Bad Religion are pretty legendary and older than most of you at that.

Jawbreaker played pop punk. Dirtbombs play garage punk. fugazi and husker du were more post-hardcore than post-punk. sonic youth was the closest thing to post punk. replacements were pretty much a college rock band with punk roots.

the operative word here is "punk" and all of those bands have a huge part in punk rock's history.

i love how it says "no punk" and then the first band i read is The Dirtbombs and then Jawbreaker, Fugazi, Husker Du, The Replacements, and Sonic Youth all crack the top 30.

I've seen most of SNL's cast and writers perform improv, stand up, and even sketch comedy live and they are very, very funny people. Get them in a room with deadlines and advertising restrictions and they lose all of their funny. WTF.

Also - that DQ sketch presents one of the biggest problems with SNL. A funny joke that is only funny for maybe 45 seconds that lasts 3 minutes on the show. They should just have a thing at the end where they use funny 45 second clips of cut sketches.

my only problem with this is that it gets all Sarah Silverman-ish at the end and I can't send it to my parents and relatives and stuff.

i know. lame. but i've been making this joke/argument since i was 14 going to Catholic high school despite being not-Catholic and it might mean more from an attractive famous person than from me. too bad the pussy joke ruins it. and makes it better, also.

touching, huh?

personally I can't wait for some young flakey 19 year old girl is on there, and Dave is giving her a hard time, and she's like "oh yeah, well, at least I didn't like fuck my employees while I was married with a kid."

and he's like "do'h!"

SuperBad was a movie about dick jokes with a "coming of age" story sprinkled in there (sprinkling of cum pun definitely intended) while Adventureland was a "coming of age" story with some dick punches sprinkled in.
