New Q-Tip (Feat. Norah Jones) - "Life Is Better"

This slinky funk, sample-stitched new song from Q-Tip is pretty much the jam. "Life Is Better" features Norah Jones, she of cool covers and platinum wigged fame, singing the track's main motif as if she's already years deep in the...  CONTINUE READING NEW Q-TIP (FEAT. Norah Jones Talks My Blueberry Nights

Norah Jones: dressing slutty, covering Arcade Fire, popping up in SNL skits with Samberg since 2006. But for all that range she's been flexing of late, her biggest departure from being gramma's favorite contemporary artist comes this year, when she plays the lead role in the Jude Law/Natalie Portman/Rachel Weisz-starring Wong Kar Wai film My Blueberry Nights. Bluenote put together this little EPK to to pimp the soundtrack (which features labelmate Amos Lee and co-star Cat Power), but she talks a little about how she got the role and the film in general. Plus, she seems nice. Still waiting for more El Mad Mo, though.

Norah Jones Covers Arcade Fire

You'll need a set of speakers that go to 11, but it's worth it if only for the curiosity satisfaction: Grammy's favorite jazzy chanteuse, Norah Jones, covering "Ocean Of Noise." The recording floating around the web is from Ms. Jones's...  CONTINUE READING NORAH JONES COVERS ARCADE FIRE»

New Norah Jones - "Thinking About You"

Are we ever gonna mention NoJo without thinking to her turn as El Mad Mo? Nope, never. The sleazy-superhero, fishnets-and-platinum-blonde look has left an indelible impression on our Gummy minds. That night also has us secretly wishing that some day...  CONTINUE READING NEW NORAH JONES - "THINKING ABOUT YOU"»

New Amos Lee - "Sympathize"

Hoping to parlay the success of the secretly-punk Norah Jones into a roster of similarly young-and-introspective balladeers, Blue Note made Philadelphia coffee-shop soul man Amos Lee a marketing priority last year. And though the artist that emerged from the "male...  CONTINUE READING NEW AMOS LEE - "SYMPATHIZE"»

New Ryan Adams - Jacksonville City Nights

It's hard for us fans to get excited about new tunes from a songwriter who shits out EPs and double ablums like he's on his deathbed. That said, I like what I hear on Jacksonville. Even (perhaps especially) the Norah...  CONTINUE READING NEW RYAN ADAMS - JACKSONVILLE CITY NIGHTS»
