I’m not sure how much stock can be put into graphic statistical representation as proof of a greater claim of xenophobia (unless it’s a graphic statistical representation of xenophobes by state), but I will say that I do love graphically represented statistics! However, the anomaly in this case is that Arizona appears to be a worldly and well-travelled people…. and speaking from my experience of living in that god-forsaken place over the past 6 months, worldly and well-travelled would be about the last words I’d use to describe the people of AZ. I have never been to a more hateful, racist, gun-crazy (and I mean crazy–as in, you don’t need a license or certification to carry a concealed weapon on your person-crazy, because FREEDOM!), red, tea party-friendly place in my life. So now, I’m moving back to Madison, WI, where they understand the value of progressive thinking and workers’ righ—oh…right… never mind. sadface.

I just changed my spring break plans… You know where I’m heading!

I really needed this to be the first(ness) comment, I would have been really disappointed in the monster community, had it not been first…(ness).

UHHHH YES. That’s my answer. Being wasted might make it even more of an emotional tearfest–at least in my case… I might just drink to numb the pain of losing Lost.

And also, Lapidus had the best damn chest of salt and pepper hair ever and always knew just the right amount of buttons to leave open on his shirts…. does anyone else have anything they’d like to say at this make believe beach burial for a make believe tv show character that I am grieving IRL?

Man, last night was Sadtown*, for sure. Population: All of us. Does anyone else feel like this season is just being so rushed by the May 22nd (or whatever) deadline Lindelof and Cuse gave ABC when they pitched the show? I feel like it’s so rushed that there are all these holes that they’re creating that they’ll never fill in. Not to mention, that they are seriously cutting down on our grieving time–when are we going to have our ceremonial beach burials?? WHO WILL SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT LAPIDUS??? I would like to say that Lapidus went out in Lapidus style when he saw the pressure of the ocean about to break through the submarine hatch… “Aww hell…” – Frank Lapidus. And then BOOM hatch door to the face!

*not to be confused with ABC’s Happy Town**: Wednesdays 9/8c
** Oh man, THAT SHOW! Woof! (can we please start recapping that?)

Maybe you never really woke up at all and it was just all a terrible nightmare… just be thankful that smashmouth didn’t jump out of your closet.

Going for most-downvoted for Monster’s Ball, eh? Silly new guy, we’re not THAT easy to bait.

I might watch that show!

I had hoped to figure it out by now without having to ask, but how DO we post images anymore? I tried the old html way and that didn’t work.

At first I really didn’t like this whole “hidden due to low comment rating” feature that wordpress employs to make it harder to kick a commenter while he’s down? I guess? But now I get excited when it says “hidden…” –it’s like the anticipatory excitement you get when you get that new box of cereal home from the grocery that you only bought because it said there was some magical prize inside….and then it turns out to be a cereal box of disappointment because all you got was a pencil topper shaped like the cereal’s cartoon mascot–and who really uses pencil toppers anyway? It just makes it harder to get to the eraser! I don’t get pencil toppers!!! Anyway, that’s what these hidden comments have turned out to be … disappointing pencil toppers.

Am I doing this analogy thing right?

You know, I didn’t really hate this…I may have even enjoyed it! But I also just got around to watching/reading that post about Ke$ha Blah Blah Blah that I intentionally kind of avoided last week.

Sooooo…. what I’m trying to say is given a choice between seeing this or a Ke$ha video before I die… I’m voting for this, PLEASE A THOUSAND TIMES, THIS!!!!

Confession: When I just read your comment, I read “misshapen” as miss-happen… until I read on and felt even dumber… I’d like to think I would have figured it out by re-reading if you’d used misshapen in it’s intended context in a general comment…but feel better–We are both dummies!! yay!

Yeah, I was seriously underwhelmed with this week’s show. And for some reason when I watched it on hulu, they didn’t include either one of her musical performances or the smashmouth sketch, so it only ended up being an hour. And since the whole show felt really phoned in, I thought maybe they had a limited time slot due to the olypmics or something? and edited out the music and a few sketches. So I just attributed a bad show to last minute shuffling of the bits (and choosing to mostly do the latina-based ones?)… but I guess not… bummer.

At least we have Zach G next week… and OMG when Tina Fey hosts in April, with Emperor Justin Bieeeeeeeber as the musical guest, my head just might explode! So, chin up guys… we have lots to look forward to!

Yeah, the “Welcome To The New Videogum” post was basically Gabe calling for a family meeting… and we met monster-siblings we never knew we had because they had been living under the stairs silently observing us this whole time! All I know, is those new monsters had better add their name to the chore wheel!

BruceGoose is in the early admittance Honors Analogy program, obviously.

I’m glad you brought up the layout issues in such a way that, if they chose, they could adopt pretty easily (or at least try out some alternate layouts before they make it the final design) because I can’t believe that the current one was the best choice. The lack of color is really bumming me out out… and I never thought I’d miss the all CAPS headlines, but I do… A LOT–serifs just don’t work for the content. Anyway, everything you said +1, Funtastik –good feedback!

(Maybe when you are not busy being a professor of the internet, you could offer your services and help videogum get her groove back! We would all be extremely appreciative and we can pay you in upvotes!)

Ignition, this is SOOOO like you to agree with someone without an opinion, but who wouldn’t agree with Balki Bartokomous, right?

As a more serious observation, I want to know who thought to record such a great dance party?! Was this someone with such astute foresight he/she was able to predict the advancement in internet video technology and think, “Someday, there will be a pop culture/trampoline accident online blog on the worldwide web that will NEED this video to bring joy and delight to it’s readers from around the globe… Yes, I will definitely set my Betamax to RECORD!”
OR
Is this just DJ STORM sitting in his mom’s basement converting his old betas to digital form and uploading them to youtube so he can relive his glory days forever and ever until 2012…?

After further review of this dance party… I don’t care if there’s video pizza, I am there!

My bangs are teased, my jean jacket is bleached… LETS. DO. THIS.

I’m only coming if there’s going to be acid-washed video pizza!

I already feel like Gabe and Scott should get the day to iron kinks, I feel like we’re throwing a 100 things at them to fix. I’m just speaking for myself obviously, but I would forgive you guys if you just posted live feeds of cute animals for us to stare at all day while you fix the internet mainframe. I just picture phones ringing off the hook (emails filling the inbox), faxes flying out of the machine (more emails)…total chaos at ‘gum HQ!! (lots of emails to read).
