ah yes Frankestein was crazy good… (although watching Jonny Lee Miller rape-rape Frankenstein’s new bride was a tad awkward sitting next to the madre) otherwise *the best*

I calmly disagree – I love me some Top Gear… I’m not saying they don’t make racist remarks but it’s not like the Mexican thing was the first slur they’ve ever made… seriously who expects Jeremy Clarkson to not make incredibly thoughtless and offensive generalizations? and honestly the way people go on you would think that that was the only purpose of the show when in all actuality they go for full minutes on end without offending someone on earth

so fuck the haters, top gear is brilliant fun with their ridiculous challenges not to mention the cinematography – I mean I hate cars but some of the shots are just so fantastic and pretty

I guess what I’m saying is there is so much more shit on tv or in the world that is truly genuine trash is every aspect that maybe I don’t really give a shit that in their usual hyperbolic ramblings they throw in some sarcastic and generic insults…

And I fully admit that is a absolutely terrible defense of a show and possibly makes me look like a racist sympathizer but fuck it… on with the downvoting…

but seriously this forever

+4Posted on Feb 14th, 2011 | re: Saturday Night Live: Russell Brand and Chris Brown (123 comments)

ah stefon made me cry he was so good last night
Also does anyone else think Russell Brand has sort of become the British Robin Williams at least in the sense that they both try way to hard and long to get a laugh (*Russell Brand interrupts your commentary to make innuendo jokes on “hard and long” and point out his tight pants for 10 min*)
Also also stop making the point that you’re more famous in England… it was amusing when you were new to America but it’s been how many years? Everyone knows who you are…
Also also wik… seriously though Russell Brand is not a comedic actor – he clearly can’t read cue card well, and the only persona he can play well is hedonistic wastrel who counters everything with a careless quip

+1Posted on Dec 13th, 2010 | re: Saturday Night Live: Paul Rudd And Paul McCartney (84 comments)

am I the only one who really enjoyed this ep? I mean not amazing in the long run but I would say best of the season so far? (not that there’s much to compete against maybe jon hamm ep?)… helped along by the fact that hey it’s fucking paul mccartney and paul rudd makes anything hilarious simply by being paul rudd

like “stumblin” was fucking ridiculous and had it been any other actor I’m pretty sure I would have felt meh about it or worse but paul rudd and mccartney’s cameo made it just absurd enough to be fantastic

I dunno sometimes I feel like Gabe is just being overly hard on it… maybe I’ve just lowered my expectations for snl, or ya know differences in opinion and all that (I hate the sexually speaking sketch every time – overdone, maybe funny the first time…)

We went to see it in IMAX (6 stories high screen is the way to go)
true story – when the movie began and it goes through that long loud screechy fly through the WB logo the dude next to me sneezed so loud at the exact moment that bill nighy’s (2 story) giant eyes showed up on screen that everyone in the theatre both jumped and immediately started laughing though the seriousgum “these are dark times” speech
It was a nice theatre bonding moment

yea I almost felt bad about talking about *spoilers* (in front of friends who had read the books but didn’t remember the everything) but at the same time it’s been three years… you haven’t read the books yet? too bad

+1Posted on Nov 23rd, 2010 | re: The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Holiday Movie Nominees (416 comments)

aww man Toys = movie I used to secretly and defiantly watch as a teen because my mother hated “that filthy Comedy Central”, damn that was a weird fucking movie

+2Posted on Nov 23rd, 2010 | re: The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Holiday Movie Nominees (416 comments)

Once again every time I see “The Family Man with Nicolas Cage” I get confused and immediately think “The Weather Man” which is def WMOAT material but not really christmas-y – Michael Caine, camel toe, and totally inappropes-ness, ugh – so I also get confused when people say they like this movie, but am relieved when I realize my mistake

+3Posted on Nov 23rd, 2010 | re: The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Holiday Movie Nominees (416 comments)

I second not cause I hate it (I actually nostalgically love it because of the 90s-ness of it and Bernard the Elf) but because I just would love to relive the awesome and horrible through Gabe’s diatribe

+1Posted on Nov 23rd, 2010 | re: The Hunt For The Worst Movie Of All Time: Holiday Movie Nominees (416 comments)

I really enjoyed that movie when it came out (because Alan Rickman and british people no duh) but I’d totally be absolutely okay if I never saw it again because now all I remember is a general feel of depressing and just not-very-satisfying endings from it

dc monster — got to the rally by 12:30, got stuck in the middle of 7th st, stayed for an hour, then left at 1:45 to get to work by 3 (work was 3 blocks away mind you) – a clusterfuck but a fun one – couldn’t hear anything but the train song bit but the most exciting part for me was seeing a guy dressed as green man dancing excellently on a news van, also here’s my bro-in-law and sis with sign:

Sorry did I miss something? that looks fucking fantastic… and I don’t mind russell brand so much as he’s intentionally playing a buffoonish Shakespearian character (with alfred molina? awesome)
