I’m excited for the Superman reboot, but dammit, why do they always have to try and “modernize” the suit? Just wear the effing blue tights and be done with it! Do they have to be all “mesh” looking?

I wasn’t able to log in at work yesterday when I heard this awful news. In fact, I haven’t been able to log in much at all lately, and I really miss it. But the first place I wanted to come was here, to this place, this real/unreal/intangible “room” where we watch great movies and great television and trampoline accidents together, and where we talk about stupid people things and smart people things and just get through it all somehow…Well, anyway, I don’t have much to say, but Mr. Ebert said this, in 2011, and Salon.com reposted it. I think it just about sums it up: “I believe that if, at the end, according to our abilities, we have done something to make others a little happier, and something to make ourselves a little happier, that is about the best we can do. To make others less happy is a crime. To make ourselves unhappy is where all crime starts. We must try to contribute joy to the world. Thank you! The hubs and I are extremely excited and scared shitless about the baby–I think both of those are normal!? I’m also very lucky to have an assistant! She’s young and hip and the biggest Ron Swanson fan in the world, so of course I had to show her Videogum, LOL!

I had a pretty great day; I got a new assistant here in my office and I’ve been training her. I’ve had to kinda take a hiatus from VGum as I’m getting ready to have my first baby in December and things have just been crazy busy, but anyway, part of the “training” for my new assistant while I’m on maternity leave included a tutorial of Videogum! I began with the now-infamous Gwyneth Paltrow note to working moms, and have thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing on some of my favorite old posts, as well as catching up on all the new things I’ve been missing. I love VGum and hope this new weekly column continues!!

I don’t know where else to post this so I’ll just say it here: I just found out that the Duggars will be on the college campus where I work on Wednesday!!! Not only that, but it will part of KIRK CAMERON’s show, “The Way of the Master”!!!!!!!!! OMG I am terrified and thrilled at the same time….I wonder how they will arrive?? Will they be on their school bus? Will Kirk himself be here, or just the crew?? What signs do I make for the event????
