That was oddly hypnotic.
as one of those crazy feminists type people, i am interested in the gloria steinem one but it seems like it’s going to be one-sided view and while she’s done great things and all, she also sucks at including both non-white women feminists and the younger generations into any discussions/thoughts/etc.
on a positive note, my coworker saw the bobby fisher one and has been raving about it all day.
my footy team last won the league way back in 2001 and i feel i didn’t celebrate enough so i promised myself the next time they won, i’d get a tattoo of the team symbol (my vg icon) and of course, i have jinxed them and they haven’t won since then…. which is ok because i am kinda scared of needles.
That is an insult to dumb teenage girls.
I was most impressed, after the Madonna/Girl Power! (ahem) episode, that this episode dealt with the girls so very well. That scene between Quinn and Mercedes killed me, Mercedes’ “Beautiful” made me sob and this sweet moment were the highlights for me.
This episode made me cry multiple times.
This is genius and scary all at once. I choked on my tea at the coffins, gasped at the hairless cat and yelled “WTF” at the bed of death. No other video in recent memory has got that kind of reaction from me. Bravo GaGa. Bravo.
I will say I met her before her first album was released and she was just beginning to see how the business worked but she was nice and shy and pretty unassuming. I wouldn’t be surprised if massive success has changed her but the awkward shyness wasn’t an act back then.
I only saw 2 clips – the opening and the twilight bit – and she’s no actress but I thought she was fine.
Both scenes where Don is trying to woo Peggy were perfect. His first take in his old asshole style and then realizing he had to change and be honest with her and that he actually needed her which led to that second attempt…. it is so nice to see Don respect Peggy.
There’s no reason to bring Ken on board the new ship – he already won over at the old firm. I hope the do have the two companies as rivals for clients next season – then we can see Ken v Pete, Kinsey v Peggy, etc.
That means I also hope they do not skip too far ahead next season – it’d be great to see this new company as a startup and struggling and 1964 means great pop culture developments such as The Beatles.
I’m really enjoying the pop culturally-aware and snarky version of Nate; he should always be the comic relief/sidekick.
And I think I would die of shock if Serena did NOT dress like a whore just once. That’s all I am asking for…. just ONCE. Please.
the camera work during “i could have danced” was making me dizzy but all the puckness made up for it.
and of course the teenage girls (esp. a sweet one like quinn) go for the sweet, sensitive, dippy boy – it’s the older college girls who would realize that puck is waaaaay better.
re: footygum, add me to the list. romastrega is for a.s. roma.
and re: giant seagull. i am scared to death of birds and will now have nightmares. many thanks.
That’s it Gabe. I live in L.A. and I have a television. No more excuses.
And it is wrong that all the Blair/Chuck scences make me go “awww” and that they are the only 2 people I root for anymore.

Thanks a lot Gabe for getting that song stuck in my head. Wilde is on the vampires’ side; I think he’d appreciate Pam’s humor and Eric’s beauty.
