Find Me On:
Thank god someone paved the way for my Jonathan Brandis leg scar.
Sigh, maybe in a land where all dreams came true.
Jesse Eisenberg would actually make a pretty decent Richard.
Whatever, you guys! Becky is cute and spunky and jailbait for Riggins–what’s not to like?
I’m so sad about this though. I guess clear eyes and full hearts can lose.
I was horrified by that part, too! And then I read your comment and thought, “I wonder what one was at 2:22,” and went back to watch it and was scared again.
Not going to lie, Gabe’s Dune references were definitely an influence in my reading the book last week. Adjunct Professor Spice Eyes, over here.
Did you make it to season 2? The laugh track fades out as the series progresses. They never wanted to use it, but were forced by ABC.
Is that how we send secret messages to Gabe?
The part that made me most uncomfortable about reading this (and a lot of it made me uncomfortable) was the way that Glenn, Rob and Charlie getting picked up for the show while she wasn’t echoed the whole “Sweet Dee is the only member of the gang who is not part owner of the bar” storyline of the series. That aspect of the plot always seemed completely arbitrary and weird to me, especially since the gender power struggle of the gang is present in so many other obvious ways, but with this backstory it’s especially unfortunate. Yuck, gang.
Oh, boo. I guess the return of a legend got my mouse-clicking finger all excited.
I was too fearful of its hypnotic lure to watch the whole thing. But I skipped ahead, because I had to know how it ended.
Not enough canola oil on those legs.
Steve Zahn: greatest member of the Oneders.
BRB, going to find a secluded cave and be a hermit forever now.
“Today is my last day at Videogum.” Not funny anymore. Or, well, at least less funny now.
I’m amazed that you’re really going to read it! I think that legitimizes me as a carrier of the super nerd disease or something.
You bring up a lot of great points, and I, too, was incredibly disappointed with the handling of Draco and his storyline in the books. But, and watch out because I am about to drop a serious HP nerd bomb, I may have been spoiled because I read Cassandra Claire’s ‘Draco Trilogy’ fanfiction years ago and it actually surpassed the books in a lot of ways, but most significantly in its exploration of Draco as a character who is torn between upholding the tradition of his lineage and his newfound friendship with Harry. I suck at describing it, but it was a really great series. She took it down when she got her original books published, but they’re available in .pdf here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081001203009AARdOYh If you’re looking for a way to kill many, many hours, there you go! I’m going to go Avada Kedavra myself now for nerding out this much, but I couldn’t help but respond.
Yes!! I keep nerdily hoping Gabe will cover that, as I’m sort of obsessed with it. How fantastic are Draco and Voldemort?! Highly recommend all Potterheads (cringe) settle in for 2 hours and watch it. So good!
I thought it was great! Quite a few Lots of Love moments (Daniel Radcliffe, not just a four-eyed brooder slash naked horse enthusiast!), and Emma Watson’s acting was less aggressively annoying than usual. Also, I am too old for this, so gross, but Rupert Grint: swooooon.
I am very excited for Videogum Summer School! I am going to take your (and everyone’s, including my dad’s) advice and watch The Wire. My suggestion: Sports Night.
Class is in session!
I guess Hell has to freeze over or Street has to walk again for Friday Night Lights to get nominated.
Why do you need an excuse? Aladdin’s awesome!
I don’t comment here enough, but I’ve been loving on this blog and making everyone I know read it since day one. I’m all broken up about you leaving, Lindsay! You are truly The Best and we’ll miss you!
Took the words out of my mouth. (Or the keys from under my fingers?)
I’m disheartened by this news, too! Lindsay, but who will post the cute slow loris videos we all crave? You will be sorely missed.
