Soft D has been added to the RSS. I am excited.

Also, someone needs to make an FLW horror movie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_lloyd_wright#More_personal_turmoil

most of FLW’s buildings have at least one horrible flaw. It’s kind of what I love about it, the random imperfections that bug everyone.

Not yet, unless you’re the dude that asked me out for last Sunday and then never got back to me with a set time or plan (so I went to see Star Trek instead).

We should start a dating in Chicago blog (no we shouldn’t).

I am making cornballs and muffins and frozen bananas. We might also try to move our TV onto the porch if the weather is nice and cords are long enough.

One of the best parts of living in Chicago is being so close to Oak Park. Love his stuff. I really wanna take a trip to Taliesin one of these days.

oh man, sometimes the worst part of work trips is how much drinking there is. Whenever I have to travel for work I am expected to not only be on the ball with clients for 8+ hours doing work, but then we have to go out and have extravagant dinners after. I do like extravagant dinners, especially because I am poor and can’t afford them otherwise, but being “on” around a client for 12 hours is the most exhausting. Every business trip I’ve taken in the last year I’ve ended up sick after.

My day has been pretty good. I got my travel books in the mail, cause I am going to Prague and Vienna next week! So excited for that.

I am going on date #2 tonight (sequel to last week’s How Was Your Day Post). I suppose that is a good sign? My last relationship ended up a bit of shit-show, so I’m a little freaked out at the thought of a new one. Slow and steady, I say.

Handshakes are fine by me! But have a good grip, I got the weakest handshake the other night and I judged that guy hardcore.

The other night I went to a friend’s bday where I didn’t know a lot of people. When new people came my friend hugged them and somehow half the time I would also randomly be hugged by these people I had just been introduced to. It was weird and funny, but also I like hugs so I didn’t mind. In conclusion, hugs are more awkward than handshakes but also great.

I think these are funny. They don’t motivate me to shop at K-mart but they amuse me for 30 seconds. I don’t care that it’s immature humor, sometimes you just need a stupid laugh.

someone get the smelling salts, I do believe I’m about to swoon.

I could make some academics comment about language evolving and pronunciation changing and the fact that even if you invented it it doesn’t mean you get to decide how it’s said because language isn’t set in stone, but I think this sums things up better:

I’ll take it!

(there are very few times in life when a Hitchhiker’s quote isn’t the perfect thing to say)

“When the ‘Drink’ button is pressed it makes an instant but highly detailed examination of the subject’s taste buds, a spectroscopic analysis of the subject’s metabolism, and then sends tiny experimental signals down the neural pathways to the taste centres of the subject’s brain to see what is likely to be well received. However, no-one knows quite why it does this because it then invariably delivers a cupful of liquid that is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.”

There was no tension! There was nothing because Carol was kind of a drip. They really did not do much with her character.

As a designerd, I think this is a really cool idea but a silly execution. It would be fun if you got the DVD and then the ink revealed a code for extras or something. Or a golden-ticket prize.

Anyway, this is a step down from just sticking a coupon in the VHS packaging, even if the coupon was always expired.

in relation to the video.

But I am a monster! At least, unless you guys kicked me out of the club.

0Posted on May 21st | re: Oklahoma Tornado Survivor Finds Missing Dog During Interview (25 comments)

yeah, unbiased is actually the wrong word in this situation. They want to remain apart from the story? Like, documentary filmmakers are not supposed to get involved and such.

And no one can ever be entirely unbiased, it impossible. I wish everyone would accept that and move on.

I just made half my office cry.

I think it is important to be an unbiased journalist but also being a decent human being comes first.

I loved the reversal. I knew Kirk wasn’t going to stay dead, but I still got all emotional. It was great.

0Posted on May 20th | re: Star Trek: Into Darkness: A Movie Review (66 comments)

but also: Kirk should’ve stayed dead til the next movie (except I’m not sure they’re even making another movie).

0Posted on May 20th | re: Star Trek: Into Darkness: A Movie Review (66 comments)

I kind of skimmed this because it’s probably a little cynical and I really don’t want to read anything like that in relation to Star Trek. I know if I think about it a bunch I will find flaws, but I don’t want to think about it! I just wanted to spend 2 hours with characters I like doing silly things and stuff blowing up. That is what I got and it was great. I will probably see it again at the discount theater with a Strongbow.
