I particularly dislike this movie because it perpetuates the myth that The Shins make good music.

YES! One of the best parts about it is that is avoided what ended up killing Heroes (that it makes no effort to explain WHERE the powers come from or WHY they exist). There’s pretty much zero mythos-building, so it leaves the focus on character development and slowing expanding the world the characters inhabit.
