Backdoor lover! Coming from behind no one has to know!

Well he looks at me with those innocent eyes,
I say it looks like you’re wearing some kind of disguise,
because your hair sticks up, your shoes are untied
and I hope that you got that shirt at half price!

Yes please! Gabe, I’d also love to hear more!

I love movie trailers! I love when you post them and make pithy comments on them! Keep it up! For me!

There’s a big different between a riot and a protest. A riot is like the post-game craziness in the video above, but our “anarchic radical-left political” activities are mostly protests. The G20 protests were to fight for civil liberties and the Olympic protests were because the Games were using Native land without permission (i.e., trespassing). I think those are both worthwhile causes and hardly radical or anarchic.

So, I joined the facebook group but every single update shows up as a new notification! That’s a bit annoying because it takes over my facebook life (i.e., my life). Is there anyway to change the way members get notified about new content? One of my courses has a facebook group (wow, professor, you are so hip and with it!) and I don’t get notified about updates to it. Maybe look into it? If other people feel the same way?

this! (I felt like clicking thumbs up wasn’t enough positive reinforcement)

It’s not conflicting to ask that people own what they say and to ask that people not diminish and reduce other people’s experiences by speaking about their own experience (white hetero man) on a topic where such an experience isn’t really relevant. Both really boil down to saying “don’t be a terrible person”

I just clicked thumbs up for every single post in this sub-thread. Good work, guys.

Exactly! Heart attacks! And the ear bud thing! Man, sometimes I feel like I’m alone on the ear bud thing. So many heart attacks, though.

Kelly, before this post I was of the mindset that videogum didn’t really need another writer but fine, if it needs to have one, Kelly seems pretty great. I considered you a nice, if perhaps needless, addition.

But after this glorious post? How did we live without you! You’re amazing! You’ve got just enough of Gabe’s attitude that we all know we’re still reading videogum but you’ve really been bringing lots more different stuff to the blog-table as well! I’m so glad you’re here! I eagerly await more posts from you. I like your style, girl!

(ps, I’m sorry if you’re not a girl. I know a man named Kelly. Also maybe you are female but prefer to be called a woman. I’m going through a transition where I have to consciously refer to myself as woman rather than girl. If you are also going through that transition and I just knocked your progress back a step, I apologize.)

Oh man, watch until the end! That’s where the gold is.

“To all the people in Japan, everything is going to be okay.” Also here is a song about how it is raining and we are happy. See? It’ll be okay!

The second sentence=hilarious!
The first sentence… homophobic? Kind of insulting to lesbians, right?

Oh, is that what’s up? I just thought something in my browser was acting up.

I’m a big fan of books 1-4 (5 was a little too teen-angsty for me and I agree with Gabe on 6 and 7) but I’ve at least read them all. Still, the past few trailers for the past few movies are just confusing. Has my memory lapsed or are things happening that just never happened in the books?

There are some very, very hilarious names here, but do you all think we could stay away from prison rape jokes?

No, just buys, and just girls. Found your flaw!

+5Posted on Mar 15th, 2011 | re: And Now It Is Time To Rest (46 comments)

I read every day because Gabe is the best, no doy, but I rarely leave a comment because I don’t have that much to say. But! I wanted to comment to let you know that I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed your writing style. Just wonderful! Should you start a blog of your own (or if you already have one?) I would definitely follow it.

Thanks for covering for Gabe for the day!

Gabe, it’s like you don’t even think the cute kids have earned it, by virtue of being cute. Evolution made them cute in order that our heart strings would be plucked. Stop making us feel bad for hating on the fuglies.

But can you find another way to post, other than hulu? Break some copy right laws for us, Gabe!

Gabe, please can you talk about Misfits when the next season starts? Very worth it.

 +34Posted on Jan 4th, 2010 | re: How's Our Driving? (180 comments)

I certainly agree that Teen Korner is the best thing on the internet, but I love Gabe’s ‘partisan’ posts. They’re not really partisan though, right? It’s hardly a political statement to say “I’m against homophobia” is it? Is that still political? Is it controversial not to hate?

This might be a very weird thing to say (it is clearly a weird thing to say) but I kind of have a brain boner for Gabe. If smart was on an x axis and funny was on a y axis, Gabe would have the longest vector in town.

Yes please, because some of us are not Americanish.

0Posted on Dec 30th, 2009 | re: The Catchphrase Of The Decade (79 comments)

The only places I have heard the snakes line used (other than by people exiting the theatre after watching that movie) are bad comedy clubs where people parodied that line in terrible sketches. If that was the catchphrase of the decade I would have to suicide myself. I guess then I am satisfied with the winner.

It makes me feel like I don’t even know what a Robin Hood is.
