Jon Cryer and no Adam Scott or Nick Offerman?
“Funny story, I spilled it.”
ROBBED.
I agree, I really love recaps, especially of terrible reality shows I don’t watch (Real Housewives), True Blood, etc. I even really liked the Thirtysomething reviews, even though I know they drained Gabe.
I also REALLY miss Joe Mande, taking things for the team or in any incarnation, really. Sometimes, when I’m down, I go to his “boy band audition” T14TT and laugh at him covering LMFO. True story.
Using the time machine technology from that one episode of Duck Tales, I can fix all this.
That’s my boyfriend (I wish i wish i wish.)
Invention of Lying is offensively bad. It has a good cast and seemingly smart people behind it, but it just ends up being a misogynistic, boring, lazy nightmare. The whole movie is based on a FLAW IN LOGIC (not to do Gabe’s work for him, but “saying what you think all the time with no filter” is NOT the same as “telling the truth”). PLEASEEE Gabe.
Also, I will say Valkyrie til I die.
I agree about the poop jokes thing (even though I lit’rally closed my eyes and ears for the whole sequence, as I cannot STAND to watch anyone throw up), but I thought Meghan was a great character not because she was “haha, fat” but because she was a weirdo and outcast who happened to also be awesome.
This movie had everything. HILARIOUS, emotional, and really spot-on about the things that bring friendships of all genders together and apart. The scenes between Lillian and Annie, especially in the coffee shop at the beginning and then in Lillian’s apartment, made me clasp for my best ladyfriend’s hand. Also, for the LADIES: Kristin Wiig had some cuuuuuute outfits, Jon Hamm’s hilarious “does George Glass do this?” boobrub, and puppies and racoooooons and porcupines! If I weren’t so poor, I’d see it again in the theatre.
I’ve gotten flack for this before, but VALKYRIE!!!!
TOM CRUISE IS A HERO NAZI.
It would be a bad movie without him, but this bit of miscasting alone makes it ripe for the hunt.
I can’t say I love that the google ad that popped up for me was for New England’s #1 Pole Dancing Studio. I’ll go quietly, officer.
How is this not upvoted waaaay more?
But recapping Party Down makes no sense. It’s not an event-driven show, really, and it’s good! What is the point, unless it’s something like LOST that is both good and VERY event driven?
Dramaticstructuregum.
Please YES. I remember the warm feeling I got in my stomach everytime there was a NJ recap last year. C’mon, does no one remember Gabe’s crush on Dina? It’s riveting!
Not to discount good airtight logic, but I figured that Captain Stabby had ‘the sickness’ and was just straight up murdering because he was crazy with it. Like Rosseau’s crew.

Unironic crush on Max over here. I want to compliment his blouse, if you know what I mean (I hope you don’t.)
