I love you. You summed up most of my thoughts on Betty. I find it difficult to hate her, I am more dissapointed with Betty’s inability to smarten up than dislike her for her bitchyness which like you said is an offshoot of having an awful husband and being born into a suffocating environment. Obviously her bad parenting skills cannot be justified (HOW COULD YOU FIRE CARLAAA), but that aside, I think Betty should abandon her bitchy housewife shtick and use her anger to climb back up and do something significant.
She is a fantastic character, I often feel conflicted about her much like the way I do towards Pete

I read all 5 of the books that are out this summer and while all of them are brilliant and fantastic and exciting, it becomes difficult to read ASOIAF without feeling a bit depressed because Martin rarely throws the good guys a bone. While I believe most of the seventh book will be an all out revenge fest for the Starks/Targaryens/Whoever else has been terribley wronged, the first 6 books will delay the ‘justice’ that needs to be served by the antagonists as much as it can.
Thats not to say that the Lannisters don’t get shat on throughout the series, they do. But it takes a while for the Starks to climb back to the state we saw them at in the first book.
I concur entirley with your second paragraph. My gripe was with the suggestion that guilt of sodom does not focus on sexuality at all. While it is clear that it touched on the sins of those who are ‘rich’ as well as those who as ‘unhospitable’, there was a clear indication that the men of sodom are ultimatley ‘sinful’ because of their homosexual tendencies.
By overall point was that this is one of the many things in the bible that should just further convince people that it is neither the absolute truth or anything other than a highly outdated book on morality. It contains passages that are stupid to begin with, without much help from extremist Christians or the ruling classes.
Not to get all religiousgum on here (but clearly I will be doing that), the guilt of Sodom and Gomorrah, even after much academic debate by both Christian and non-Christian scholars is still most evidently associated with homosexuality.
I am only replying to you sir because I think the bible in and of itself contains some highly questionable and ultimatley terrible passages. The source material is not particularly innocent of blame. A large amount of Christians are misguided in their beliefs and certainly warp things written in scripture to suit their own agenda, but there is a fair amont of bullshit written in the bible itself that doesn’t need much “twisting”. I think in the case of the guilt of Sodom, this is true.

Tom Cruise is in India right now with Anil Kapoor (the millionaire host from slumdog), their promoting mission impossible and all of bollywood is bending over backwards for Tom as we speak, which includes HIRING CROWDS OF PEOPLE to stand around near the airport when he arrived. They also threw him a giant party where several Blist Indian stars showed up and made Tom feel important. It was pretty fucking ridiculous overall, but either way, this is why Tom has suddenly joined the “I love bollywood” jamboree.

Exactly. Katniss was always the worst in my head and she evolved into a complete shithead by book 3, but i think Jennifer Lawrence has greatly improved the character. She’s such a fantastic actress for how few movies she’s done.
I pretty much think JoshHUTCHO is just real life Peeta. Perfect casting. Effie was also great, that accent? The voice? Elizabeth Banks is the best. I’m also liking the soundtrack. Most of all i enjoyed that they didn’t mention the Katniss-Peeta romantic story line because it would be a nice little surprise for wider audiences.

This is one of the worst examples of organized ignorance, hatred and idiocy i have had the misfortune to watch. I am neither Christian or conservative but i feel even worst for people who identity themselves in either of those categories as these woman spew their garbage opinions THROUGH those costumes.

When I was in highschool my bestfriend and I made a promotional video for the schools jazz band by playing on ‘fight club’ and calling it ‘jazz club’. I can only tell you that it was fantastic and phenomenal, our teacher though never put it on the school website OR gave it to the jazz band kids because he thought it was too ridiculous (too perfect).
This disturbed me far more than I thought it would.
