Secret Diary Of A Call Girl Is Going To Blow In The Bad Way

Monday nights are about to get a whole lot more about British prostitutes, you guys:

It's good to see that Showtime still has the courage and wisdom to perpetuate the stereotype that prostitutes are empowered women who love their line of work. It's not just about loving sex and being hot, it's also about power. You know what's cheap? People who aren't prostitutes. That's cheap. Prostitutes are expensive. McDonald's actually stole the motto "I'm Lovin' It" from prostitutes.

I know that Secret Diary of a Call Girl is based on a blog (women be bloggin!) by a real life call girl, so it's not exactly for me to say that this exaggerated embodiment of the Whore side of the Madonna-Whore complex is totally unrealistic or untrue. And I suppose it's just as promotive of stereotypes to pretend that all prostitutes are meth addicts or sexual abuse victims. But at least the meth addicts and abuse victims are honest with themselves about the situation, the situation being to get some more meth or to continue a pattern of abuse, and don't sit around in satin robes all day talking the most utter bullshit about fake power and going to bed sated over a '80s porn soundtrack when they could be out giving five dollar bjobs. Sorry. Apparently I do come to your work and slap the dick out of your mouth, Professor Sex Clown.

This clip reminds me a little too much of that Onion headline "Women Now Empowered By Everything A Woman Does".

It seems cruel to not warn America that purchasing shows from ITV will bring you no joy. Admittedly they aren't too bad at choosing US shows (they get The Office and Gossip Girl), but their own output is dire. You have been warned.

I always suspected that - aside from the terrible acting, failed former teen pop sensation lead, weak script, and the fact it was aired on ITV - part of the reason for SDOACG's failure was it was literally impossible to watch half an hour of what can only be described as intense soft focus...

Oh, I dunno, I rather like SDOACG. I'll admit, I have a bit of a crush on Billie Piper and her perfect ass, but that aside... I dunno. It makes me laugh, much like Belle's blog does. And no, it's not great television, and it's not great acting (though I don't think Billie's acting is as bad as some people think), but it's fun.

Not to mention, Billie Piper has the world's most gorgeous ass.
