Why Isn't This Google Street View Art Project Thing Not All Over The Internet Yet?
Maybe because it was posted on election day? No idea, but this seems like it would be everywhere by now: basically, art people got together with Google people and made an art project out of a Pittsburgh street, that you can now see on Google street view for that street for, like, ever. Here's a very grassroots video about the project:
And here are scenes and explanations of their meaning, and here is the actual Google Street view of the street (you wanna "go" West.) Even though they didn't technically hack Google to do this, it's nice to have a meme related to Google Street view that isn't prostitutes, drug deals, or not really understanding how to use street view. Actually, Street With a View is all over the 'net, at least it's showcased in a lot of blogs. I subscribe to Google's news service so that I get emails with links to any article or blog or whatever containing the words "Google Street View" and there have been more articles, etc. published about the Pittsburgh photos than any other Street View topic lately, i.e. privacy concerns. Kinda nice to see Street View get some good press for a change.

This is the first that I have heard of it! For those of us that aren't watching streetview like a hawk, this is news!! I guess it was bad timing. Some cool stuff in there too. I found a three legged dog and a girl with her thong showing. Haven't heard anyone mention those yet. What clever orchestration. ;-)
