Reh Dogg's "Why Must I Cry" Gets An Unnecessary Remake
Reh Dogg's "Why Must I Cry" remains one of the greatest viral videos of all time. And like they say: you can't make perfection better because it's already as...great...as....so you see...you can't. That old saw. So I'm not sure that Comedy Central's Tosh.0 really needed to remake the video with a bigger budget and more girls in bikinis. But they did. And here it is:
If the rock you live under doesn't have wifi and you've never seen the original, you can watch it here.

I think it's funny when old people with lots of money completely miss the point. What are they trying to do here? Next thing we know they are going to be trying to use this to sell Reh Dogg energy drinks with the equally confused slogan "Reh Dogg gives you blings!".

Internet. Meta.

I'm sad to say this is one that somehow slipped by me. Videogum is like the GooP for internet videos, I'm just so grateful it's free!

Didn't something just like this happen to the Chocolate Rain guy? I just hope these dudes are in on the joke. It gives me kind of an uneasy feeling if they're not, a la Tim and Eric.
Score = 1
What do you mean a la "Tim and Eric"?
Score = 0
So much of Tim and Eric's thing revolves around taking these awkward cable-access types and putting them on display in all their alien weirdness. And I'm not Professor Awesome Show Great Job over here; they're clearly very clever, innovative comedians, and I'd like to think that they're laughing with people like David Liebe Hart rather than at, but it's hard to tell. It's the same with stuff like this. It seems kind of exploitative? That's just how I've perceived it. I am expecting many a downvote for the profaning of the Tim and Eric name! Sorry, humanity! I like them too! Just sometimes I don't know how to feel! The world's a big scary place!

Tim and/or Eric have commented frequently on this. In pretty much every single interview they do. They are giving people that are dying for an audience, that would never normally have an audience, an audience. They bring many of them on tour with them, where they get cheered and applauded. In one interview Tim described "Pierre's" reaction to being on tour as the best time of his life.
I work in reality TV, sometimes particularly shitty, shitty shows. A lot of the people that audition with me end up on that show. And they are desperate, ridiculously desperate to be on TV. If getting laughed at is what it takes, they'll do it happily. Also, David Liebe Hart is most definitely in on the joke at this point.

I'm crying because this remake is terrible. (and they removed the stop, drop, and shoot scene).
Also, did CC just use the photoshop of video to cut him out of the original and paste him proportionally into new scenes?

Daniel Tosh is awful. Dane Cook in training. His stand up wouldn't be all that bad if he didn't have that goofy, over the top delivery.
Score = 5
I actually like Daniel Tosh and now I kind of hate myself for that Dane Cook remark you just made. Well, I'm going to go get get my Tapout t-shirts back from the dry cleaners now.
Score = 3
I was at this taping and can vouch that Tosh is not smarmy IRL. I refuse to believe that Dane Cooks stand up persona is an act.
Score = 1
Yeah I can agree, I met him in Dallas at the House of Blues and he was probably the nicest and most laid-back guy you could meet.
Score = 2
Yeah. He makes me laugh sometimes, but his douche-smarm is so thick and oozy I have to shamwow my tv screen afterwards. He’s like your older brother’s friend, the subliterate misogynist you want so bad to hate--but he cracks you up against your will, and also sells you weed.
Score = 9
"Douche-smarm" pretty much sums it up. He can be funny, and he has that inherent quality where you want to laugh at him because he's naturally funny, but he's misusing a gift by going down the collegehumor.com road.

With the ratings Tosh.0 has been pulling, I doubt there will be energy drinks making anyone blings in the near future. Especially since this is all just a joke. Although Reh Dog should start promoting luffas and/or Johnsons & Johnsons Shampoo.

Ok family (can we start calling each other family?), what do we think of Daniel Tosh? I have never seen Tosh.0 or heard one word of his act, but two people I respect a good deal have told me he's hilarious. Then I see a comparison to Dane Cook back there, and I'm no longer sure what I think. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE ANYMORE! Please tell me if we think Daniel Tosh is funny. Thanks!

thats how people like dane cook get funny, people are afraid to make there own judgment on a comedian and we get stuck with things like employee of the month :/
Score = -2
*famous. thats how people like dane cook get famous. god i hate myself for even mistyping that hes funny

"(can we start calling each other family?)"
It's not a bad idea, though - some kind of nickname. How about "Stevesy". It sounds better.

I just registered for this site after a year of lurking basically so I could upvote things like this.

The Dane Cook comparison was a low blow, and not very acurate at all. You shouldn't use the Dane comparison so lightly. He's funny, but douchey.

Reh Dogg took a class in the TIm Burton School of Film: "The original always needs an irrelevant counterpart"

This is like doing a remake of The Room, it can't possibly top the original. So why waste all of our valuable internetz trying?

My cable bill got to much, so now i just read books in under my rock.

tosh.d'oh! why isn't this show just the soup, only about the internet? 1. it would be cheaper to produce. 2. it would be funnier. 3. no tosh necessary. everyone wins.
