Just Putting Some Things In Perspective

thumbnail icon: Just Putting Some Things In Perspective

I just want to put some things in perspective really quickly, because the world seems extremely volatile and unpredictable lately, which can make for a lot of fear. Now I'm not an economist (surprise!), and I don't have any foreign policy experience. I have no valuable suggestions TOWARDS solutions to the world's current crises, much less actual solutions. But I think that the following statistic is somewhat useful in gauging the actual state of affairs.

This video in which Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke produces some darkly ominous predictions about what the near future of the economic crisis looks like was posted earlier today.

It currently has 65 views.

The latest Fred video was posted yesterday.

It has more than 182,000 views.

"Party on, Wayne."
"Kill yourself, Garth."

Real [Unfortunate] Talk: I clicked on the Fred video first, and watched it in its entirety. Then I clicked on Chairman Ben's vid and watched 0:06 seconds of it.

I defend myself as follows: I was publicly heckled at work today and was too tired to cleverly punk out the heckler, and so have started drinking already to stop the replay of it in my mind. I am sure I will get back to the Chairman vid soon.

it's keen observations of situations like this and also the very serious 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' issue that really make me miss the Unethicist. Cuz, it's like, not only do the internet browsing, shitty movie watching masses need to go kill themselves, but also the NY Times Magazine writing psuedo intellectual assholes that need to go kill themselves. Pretty much everyone is the worst.

Also, The Unethicist was the reason I started reading Gawker long ago. So, there you go Gabe.
