To be fair, let's not put Stephen King up on a literary pedestal and make him out to be a brilliant literary genius. His work is decent and entertaining and probably better-written than Twilight (going off of what other people I trust have told me about it since I will never read it myself). Personally I like both King and Meyer. It's strange how the fans are supposed to choose one of them, I just don't understand it.
And Stephen King, as far as I know, commented Meyers writing style, not the story itself. And I agree that Meyers writing is not that very good - but the story is. The Twilight books are the kind you read just for the stories sake.
Another thing I don't understand is how people sit around comparing their books, when they are so different they cannot be comapared to eachother.
And just because a professional writer commented another, it's weird how people who has nothing to do with it just blows up like that girl above.
