If You Watch One Video Today, Make It Paul Rudd Dancing

thumbnail icon: If You Watch One Video Today, Make It Paul Rudd Dancing

At the end of a June 2007 interview on The Daily Show, Jon asked Paul Rudd about his upcoming film I Could Never Be Your Woman, co-starring Michelle Pfeiffer. After a few kind words about Michelle and the director, Amy Heckerling, Paul broke down and admitted "I'm being totally honest here: I don't know what's going on with that movie. It's gotten caught up in some legal issues? I don't know what's going on with that movie." What ended up going on with that movie was a straight-to-DVD release in February, but after seeing this video of an amazing Paul Rudd dance sequence (via The I In We), in which Paul takes over a dance floor and basically does his own version of the history of dance from tap to country line dancing to (of course) the robot, I will soon own the DVD.

I don't know if this part was an outtake or what, but Paul totally looks at the camera and laughs at the end:

Here's the charming Daily Show interview:

If a video could be your desktop wallpaper, that would be annoying, but Paul Rudd dancing would be mine.

I actually went to the video store, rented this movie, and watched it. And I kind of liked it. I am SO EMBARRASSED.

Lindsay, if you are going to do this, boxed wine might help (it helped me). I love Paul Rudd too, only exception is that weirdass "Overnight Delivery" movie he made with Reese Witherspoon.

I'm still trying to figure out how Paul didn't win an Oscar for the "pick that up" cafeteria scene in Wet Hot American Summer.

Do you re-enact that scene a lot? I do. I think it's my favorite scene in cinematic history.

Seriously, don't rent it. Or buy it. Or Neflix, Blockbuster, steal, whatever. Those few minutes are glorious, but they don't represent the rest of the movie AT ALL.

Have you ever listened to the Terry Gross interview with him? Hard hitting questions like "Why are you so handsome?" and "Have you always been this handsome?" cut to the core of Rudd.

But seriously, why is he so handsome

I really want to like Paul Rudd...gracious, he's even Jewish. But for some reason, the only thing I've ever seen him in where I thought he was good was in "Friends". He's cute, though I like the more rugged kind of handsome. But this dance scene just slightly misses for me somehow. There's a fine line between weird charming and weird sad...and this seems more sad to me.

You need to see him in the Strangers With Candy finale.

It's a pretty OK movie. I downloaded it last year sometime...because Paul Rudd was in it. Implausible and dumb, but he's so damn cute.

Ever since reading Nietzsche in Clueless, through guesting on Stella.

That movie is an extended rant not even bothering to disguise itself as a movie but Paul Rudd is so charming/ridiculous/dreamy, I just don't even care.

Paul Rudd is killing me softly with his song.
