Emily Is Racing Up The Right Side Of The Uncanny Valley

This lady is supposedly not a lady at all, but a computer animation of a lady. Her name is Wall-E or something.

(via neatorama)

People have talked for years about the Uncanny Valley, and how the closer human facsimiles come to real life, the more revolting they are to humans. But no one has ever talked about the Sexy Librarian Valley, and how the closer human facsimiles come to looking like a sexy librarian the more confusing they are to humans. You don't know whether you want to befriend her, date her, or lower her on a crane into a vat of molten metal at Cyberdyne Systems.

Something's wrong with Emily's mouth. I think she's been going a little overboard with the ol' virtual Botox.

Lindsay

The people whose job it is to make CGI and the people whose job it is to make plastic surgery techniques probably have secret meetings about meeting each other halfway. They're almost there!

Aherm. (Pushes up taped-up glasses). Actually, sir, in T2 the vat of molten metal that the Terminator was lowered into was at a random steel foundry, not Cyberdyne Systems. This is VERY important.

Yeah, this doesn't really count, since isn't it just facial motion-capture of an actual person? Also Emily's mouth looks like she had a stroke or something. She should have known that as a cyber-smoker there would be risks going on the cyber-Pill.
