Re-Do: More Adam Sandler As A Man-Baby
A few months ago the world got a glimpse of Adam Sandler as a man-baby in the fake-movie-within-a-real-movie from Funny People, Re-Do, and America wanted more. Today they released a full "scene" from Re-Do on Funny Or Die. The the interaction between Justin Long and Adam Sandler is pretty funny, particularly Sandler's intentional bad acting and expository dialogue:
I'm not sure under what circumstances Adam Sandler would have wiped Justin Long's ass his entire life, but scenes from fake movies deserve a lot of poetic license. This kind of marketing seems pretty firmly aimed at the "Not already totally planning to see Funny People on opening night even though it's long and has sad parts" demo. (Via Aziz Ansari.)

Who else is watching Yo Teach? I love it so much, but if you look at the Hulu discussions nobody seems to get it.
I'm unbelievably excited about Funny People

I love Yo Teach! Jason Schwartzman is so awesome...

I don't care that no one else gets it. More Jason Schwartzman for us.

What's not to get? I already have a thing for Jason Schwartzman and now I kinda have a thing for Mark Taylor Jackson too.

Wasn't this shit already done with some black guys and it sucked ass then to?
Also, they should feel damned shamed for exploiting babies to NOT EVEN give their heads credit.

I feel like I've never seen Justin Long act for real. It's like he's always mostly making fun of people who act ("actors"). I mean obviously that makes sense here, but I think if I saw him in a role that was supposed to be an actual role, I would have a hard time buying into it. (Wow, is there a Boringest Comment award? There is, I just won it.)

What about dodgeball?

Hmm, maybe I should have also mentioned that the only movie I have ever seen him in was Zach and Miri, in which his role was also kind of a joke. Sorry! But still.

Adam Sandler is like an old air conditioning unit... loud, unreliable, and not funny.
Score = 8
Great. Adam Sandler has made another dumbass movie that's NOT funny. But it's just stupid enough that all the Jr. High kids will want to see it...and it'll make money. And we'll NEVER be rid of that dunder-headed idiot.

The problem with this, and why I couldn't even crack a smile watching it, is that this is completely believable as an Adam Sandler movie. You can't make a parody of a bad comedy when you're always churning out bad comedies. Seems like a nice guy, too. I always liked Opera Man on old SNL.
