Ashanti Would Like You To Buy Her New Album, Decapitate Your Boyfriend

In order to promote her new album The Declaration, Ashanti put together a fun little video that playfully spoofs a news report. WTFuuuuuuuuuck?

(via Rolling Stone/Jezebel)

When you buy Ashanti's new album you're immediately inducted into MS-13. That gang is so crazy, they are always smashing people in the grill like 'plah.' This video is so, so smart. Ashanti should probably open her own marketing school. Good thing they put that disclaimer at the end saying "Ashanti and Universal Music Group don't condone violence of any kind, this is for parody purposes only." Such a funny parody of when people get murdered and the news talks about it. She nailed it. She probably tried to take classes at the UCB and they were like "don't bother, you're too good." I don't know which she should open first, her marketing school or her parody school, she's so good at both.

Also how siked is Barack Obama to get mentioned in the ticker? So siked. He just wrote her an email that's like "Thank you, Ashanti, I'm making you my Vice President."

Oh that was a bad call on that one there. The lack of buzz about her new LP must have been so disappointing that she decided to pull quite possibly one of the stupidest marketing stunts EVER...ok maybe not ever...
