This Is What You Look Like Playing Videogames

New York Times photographer Robbie Cooper used a camera behind a screen to capture kids' faces while they play video games for this video called "Immersion." It's creepy, cool, and mesmerizing at the same time. Watch carefully for the girl playing Grand Theft Auto (I think, right?). She is so over it:

Who does that little girl remind you of? Margot Tenenbaum! (Via NYT.) (Thanks for the tip, Joseph!)

She was given drugs before the shoot and was having a bad trip. It's a slippery slope with the drugs and the video games.

Can we get some theories on that crying girl? I was watching this, laughing and thinking, "How cute," and then she came on and I kind of felt really uncomfortable. I can understand (kind of) crying in frustration at losing a life or something...but she's just staring blankly as a single tear rolls down her face, Iron Eyes Cody style. I hope it's just allergies.

So what was the point of that? Was it supposed to be another "OMG VIDEOGAMES ARE STEALING CHILDRENS SOULS!!" thing?

If they were trying to make a point about the negative effect that violent video games have on children then why did they have to prove their point by making CHILDREN PLAY VIOLENT VIDEO GAMES?

That's like me saying that I want to prove the negative effects of child molestation, so I'm going to have a bunch of children molested so I can totally prove my point to you.

They weren't tears just water coming out of his eyes due to lack of blinking. It is a well known fact that playing video games makes you blink less.
