Tron: Legacy Teaser Trailer For Your Face

Tron: Legacy teaser trailer, you guys:

"I want to go to there."
--Nerds

Seriously, what is there even to say about this? I can't argue with things that have been developed in laboratories to appeal to all of the proper nerd senses. Well played, science.

I DO want to go there...because Daft Punk is also at that glow stick race that I just witnessed.

Yup. I was all "wow really?" when I heard about this. Then I heard about Daft Punk scoring the whole movie and it turned into "WOW REALLY?!?!"

daft punk has made it so i can't hate this movie. i was expecting the green racer to be thirteen from house cause why wouldn't you put her in the teaser? and they could've had that played out moment of, "omg it was a girl who beat the blue racer, now i've seen everything". i also like how they can move in curves now instead of just pixels.
but i'm a bit disappointed they didn't spell it out like T2ON.

This looks neat and shiny and everything, but is Tron really this iconic? I think it's weird that Disney's being so respectful of a fairly forgotten movie mythology. As terrible as the new Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies were, you could understand why people were so excited to see familiar stuff. It's more of a gamble to bet that people remember a movie that mainly serves as a punchline these days. "Yes! I am fifteen years-old and totally watch Tron six times a week! This answers all my questions about Jeff Bridge's character and I am excited to see him again!"

Why does the cycle skid to a halt? In Tron land, wouldn't it just stop? And wouldn't the cyles follow all right angles? I thought they were all binary/pixely. In the future, are all light cycle races anti-aliased?

I have to confess that I have never seen "Tron" before, but what with Jeff Bridges and Daft Punk, all this movie needs is a "Tron Paul" joke and I will become a Tronny.
