The Valentine's Day Trailer May Surprise You

thumbnail icon: The Valentine's Day Trailer May Surprise You

Valentine's Day is a romantic comedy about Valentine's Day, coming out next Valentine's Day. It's actually kind of weird that it will not be until the year 2010 that someone makes a romantic comedy about Valentine's Day called Valentine's Day and releases it on Valentine's Day. In any case, for the most part it looks like a pretty generic, dull affair. It features an ensemble cast including Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Eric Dane, Emma Roberts, and Patrick Dempsey. And at first glance there doesn't appear to be anything particularly clever or surprising about it. But I have a feeling this one is going to be a little different than your standard by-the-numbers rom-com. I think you'll see what I mean when you watch the teaser trailer after the jump:

I am to Final Cut Pro as Kim Zolciak is to singing! (The worst!) Oh well. It was a stupid joke anyway. This movie does look terrible though.

I was really worried that there wasn't going to be a vibrator joke. THANK GOD THEY SLIPPED THAT IN BEFORE THE END OF THE TRAILER.

Also, how the hell did they make Jessica Biel so goddamn frumpy? It took me a minute to figure out it was her.

Maybe frumpy's the wrong word. But she's not her usual movie self. I guess this is good (acting and all that), but it was a bit offputting.

Thank You! I couldn't remember the name of that movie. All I could think was 'All I want for Chrismas (is you)' ... I was afraid I was going to have to imdb it. So yeah, this is 'Love Actually 2: Love Actuallier"

Are you sure that's not a Chris Brown song? Because its sounds like the kind of song that is so terrible it had to be written by a domestic abuser. Or a hologram.

You take the time to list the entire cast of this movie and don't mention Jamie Foxx.

"Gabe doesn't care about (important) black people"

Do you suppose Jamie Foxx shaved his teeth down for this role like he did The Soloist? Although, I guess once you shave your teeth once there's no real need to do it again.

Caught! I actually just copied and pasted the YouTube description's cast list. But to your point: I do not care about Jamie Foxx people.

Based on the credits at the end of the trailer, Queen Latifah is in this movie as well. I'm surprised she wasn't featured in the preview because I really feel like it was missing a sassy black woman.

I'm sorry to reply to myself, but I realized afterward that the role of sassy black woman is obviously being played by Julia Roberts.

Has someone made a movie called April Fool's Day and released it on April Fool's Day yet? Because if not I totally call that and it'll be out on April 1st, 2010 (no it won't, April fool's!)

This reminds me... I've always wanted to make a movie about my birthday called "my birthday." To release it on my birthday and serve cake to the first viewing audience. Obviously, the cake would feature a picture of ME as well. There might even be balloons in the theater... I haven't decided.
