The Nerds Vs. George Lucas
The People Vs. George Lucas trailer, you guys:
All adults! Everyone in this movie is a fully grown adult complaining about children's movies. I'm surprised they had time to sit down for a talking-heads interview. Aren't they worried someone's going to outbid them for that plywood BTTFII hoverboard?
Look, everyone loved Star Wars when they were 8, and everyone thinks that Jar Jar Binks is terrible. But if you have time to rotoscope a lightsaber into a video of you standing in your living room wearing a homemade Emperor's cloak, then you have time to emotionally adjust yourself to living in a world made up of non-galactic human beings and adult responsibility. Rotoscope yourself a job.

Is "George Lucas Raped Our Childhood" available on iTunes? A musical triumph.

Star Wars nerds mostly DO have jobs and they are mostly boring jobs (like the rest of us have) and they need their escapist entertainment (like the rest of us do). So when the biggest, most eagerly anticipated form of escapism they have going for them FAILS HUGELY, they feel betrayed and angry. (Analogy: If Videogum suddenly turned into Perez Hilton, I would make a documentary called The People vs. Gabe & Lindsay. No I wouldn't.)
