The Informers: Get Totally Psyched

The red band trailer for The Informers, you guys:

From the makers of Disaster Movie and Epic Movie comes Bret Easton Ellis Movie! Whatever, I'll see this, but (at least) two things hint that it might be for unintentional comedy reasons: 1. Kim Basinger's overacting and 2. The thing where the guy is some kind of emo/goth singer who has a video on TV in the movie. I'm a sucker for that kind of thing (like the video in Music And Lyrics.) But one thing is certain: in 2009, we have wised up, and we all know that LA in the 1980s was not the nihilistic wasteland Bret Easton Ellis wants us to think it was. Also, has he ever met an actual woman? His female characters are these hilarious doomed vapid zombies that never wear clothes and exist solely to give his characters something they're supposed to want, but don't (ooooh! deep!) At some point that stops being a metaphor and starts being something wrong with Bret's brain.

I dunno, I just... I don't like terrible people. I think I'll pass.

this book was pretty good (nonsensical?), rife with the unreliable narrators that Bret Easton Ellis books and movies are known for. In the American Psycho/Vampire's Kiss tradition, there's a guy who we think is a vampire, but he might just be a lunatic...

I'm looking forward to this movie if only for the laughs.

I'm very familiar with the Photoshop Disasters blog, but can we start a Green Screen Disasters blog, and then this trailer is the first post?

Was anyone else surprised to see Brad Renfro? Didn't he die from exactly what this movie is about? It's like his PSA from beyond the grave.

This was his last movie before his death, I think. Sad.....

Shitty movie though.

This looks like Gossip Girl: Vice City.

(Even more so than this: http://videogum.com/archives/soap-operas/gossip-girl-can-barely-handle_045851.html )

There is absolutely no way this movie is good. No way.

why does winona ryder suck more the older she gets? even her performances in stuff like zoolander and strangers with candy were terrible.

serious.
i know prescription drugs are expensive, so you can't blame an aging pill-popper ex-starlet for hoping for roles, but when will we accept that she's got nothing more to offer?
shame on us ALL.

don't get too excited. i saw a test screening last year. they made the typical hollywood mistake of trying to make all of the stories connect and eliminated the most interesting character (jamie).

overall, disturbingly mediocre for a bret easton ellis adaptation, especially since he co-wrote the script. worse than less than zero.

I saw that test screening too...it is pretty bad, but it's worth seeing just to see Amber Heard frollick around naked for most of the movie

and clearly the main actor was hired for his ability to be mistaken for christian bale in the right lighting in short edits for a movie trailer.
