The Passion And The Power (Of Dildos)

Oh, the little gems one can find while perusing each week's hundreds of Netflix new releases! This week, I thought I'd finally found a worthy challenger to my "I will see any documentary" rule in Passion And Power: The Technology Of Orgasm, but the trailer turns out to make it look kind of interesting, what with the proper ladies getting arrested for selling vibrators and whatnot:

It also investigates that insane thing where doctors used to give ladies happy endings when they were acting crazy, and that insane thing is one of the most insane things about American history. Also, "Passion And Power" is the best name ever for a documentary about vibrators.

You crazy broad, you just sound jealous that your doctor hasn't give you happy endings since the Nixon administration. Also, I thought that vibrators were what Stella used to get her groove back. Or maybe that was crack.

I need to see this movie.

Dang, those old vibrators are scary!
But I like the use of the fireworks euphemism.

Um wow. "Dumber than shit about my own body".

I enjoyed the Metropolis clip at the end...but I don't think that had anything to do with vibrators.

The shot of the jellyfish mixed in with the blossoming plants makes less sense than was probably intended, because jellyfish shouldn't equate to feminine sexuality, imo.

I wonder if the movie gives any love to dudes re: the prostate massager. Changed my life.

What were those old feminine-hysteria vibrators powered on? Coal? Steam?
