The Bruno Red Band Trailer, You Guys

thumbnail icon: The Bruno Red Band Trailer, You Guys

OK. Here it is. After months of stories about Sacha Baron Cohen doing what Sacha Baron Cohen does, the red band trailer for Bruno premiered on MySpace today, but because it's red band and MySpace is more like ToolSpace, there are a lot of hoops you have to jump through to prove that you're old enough to watch brief clips of a man pretending to be something he is not in order to draw out the uncomfortable bigotry of regular people. Too many hoops! Power to the people! Bruno red band trailer to the people! After the jump!

Wa-wa-wee-wah. Very niiiice. I will say that it is even more Borat 2 than I would have thought. I will also say that Borat is great so so what. Success!

I apologize for liking this so much. The African baby took me totally by surprise. Oh, dear lord this looks funny.

Do you think Kazakhstan will protest again?

This looks about as funny as Borat, which is to say all the parts that are not scripted and don't involve actors aside from Sascha.

I'm not one to make a stink about +/- scores on comments.

But it really disturbs me that so far there are four people out there who actually thought that the narrative scripted parts of Borat were the best. There are four people out there that don't deserve life.

When I watched Da Ali G show, Bruno was my favorite character. This looks a tad more set-up than Borat, but the character is so good I'll excuse it

Can't wait but Bruno looks weird with the longer hair. He looks a little like the fag who thinks he's Peter Pan.

How would you describe that Peter Pan guy? I voted no on Prop 8 but I think fag fits the bill perfect in this instance.

It's funny when Kenny Powers does it on his show. It's not funny when you do it here, pretending to be Kenny Powers. Fair enough?

That guy lives in my town and he's actually straight. I think he's dating someone who thinks she's tinker bell. No joke.

They actually did us a favor. The stupid myspace player asked for age verification, which is just annoying.

They did that to spare us from having to go through the tedious "proof of age" security measures.

I'm willing to give this a shot, even if it is a re-branding of Borat, though I'm not really blown away by this. It isn't a question of whether it will be funny, I know it will be, but whether this or not was really necessary. The premise hasn't really changed at all.

Yes, because it's not like they released a movie sequel to the show last summer that turned out to be a bigger hit than originally thought. Obviously, the joke is untimely.

People do still say that though, "we're just like SATC!" It doesn't matter if the show ended 5+ years ago, some women still love it (as can be seen with the popularity of the SATC movie and the future success of the movie's sequel).

This is hilarious. I can't wait for the people I work with to see it, not understand any of it, then make homophobic jokes for the next five years. They still don't understand why the guys in the food court don't like being called stupid gypsies or jews!

But seriously, I can't wait.

Do you think Pauly Shore is bummed that Bruno stole his African baby gimmick? He made a whole movie on that joke and no one cared.
