Observe And Report: The Kind-Of-Depressing Red Band Trailer
The red band trailer for Seth Rogen's new unfortunately-about-a-mall-cop comedy, Observe And Report, came out this weekend. They seem to be really trying to distance themselves from Blart:
Hmmm. Is it supposed to look kind of really dark? Maybe it's the music they chose, or the fact that we're living in a post The Foot Fist Way comedy universe, but aside from Aziz Ansari's line and the Anna Faris sex scene this may be the closest thing we've seen so far to Seth Rogen's Stranger Than Fiction. Or maybe this is just the dark version, and they're releasing the Seth-on-a-segway Yakety Sax version next week.

"I accept you".
My interest is piqued, mostly in how close to Blart the green band trailer is going to skew.

"It's Always Sunny" has convinced me that guns are hilarious, so I'm glad this movie has so many gun jokes.
Score = 3
it'd be funny if they marketed this exactly like Blart and even let kevin james do interviews for it and then for the shit of it they throw in an opening scene where Ray Liotta eats his stomach. Ray Liotta, your career is magic.
Score = 3
the last minute makes it feel super pt andersonesque. also, no one fakes sex funnier than rogen. what the hell kind of style is that?
Score = 2
really? you don't think this looks funny lindsay? this looks like the funniest movie since Taxi Driver.

I saw a screening of this, it is insanely dark. Like there were some people super bummed out by it. I thought it was funny though.

this looks like it might be great

yeah, this looks pretty good, actually.

Looks horrible, and should no way be compared to Stranger Than Fiction, which is a great movie.
Score = -6
I was meh about it until Aziz's line, where my comedy meter flat-lined (I cannot watch anything from him anymore, I consider him a hurricane-force disaster of comedy. Hurricane-force compared to Mencia's tsunami of comedy and Cook's holocaust of comedy.) I enjoyed the rest of it and thought the sex scene was a nice touch.
Also, they're going to market it as the anti-Paul Blart, mark my words
Score = 1
Yeah, this looks like Taxi Driver. I can only imagine the end being a fucking bloodbath.

This looks terrible.

The music has me confused about which decade this story is supposed to be happening in.
