Julie And Jack: Another Terrible WTF Movie Trailer

thumbnail icon: Julie And Jack: Another Terrible WTF Movie Trailer

This movie, Julie And Jack, came out in 2003. It was probably a student film of some kind, and it featured a guest appearance by Tippi Hedren. But for our purposes, all that matters is that this trailer joins that of The Room, After Last Season, and You Make My Day in the awful trailer canon. Are bad low-budget romance movies the new bad low-budget horror movies? (Yes.):

Julie and Jack - Trailer

Nice headdress! While this isn't as WTF as After Last Season, because nothing is, it has the painful dialogue thing going for it, and I love the scenes where people are clearly speaking but the aggressive music plays over it. Could there be a huge treasure trove of bad movie trailers out there that are only now coming to light? Please? (Thanks to Matt Tobey for the tip!)

I started to believe this movie was legit until I got the lead heartthrob's name, Justin Kunkle. No way, no how.

I love how they put an exclamation point "And so Jack's love for Julie is put to the ultimate test!" I'm not sure if I should be excited for that phrase or scared.

Like After Last Season, this movie also cost 5 million dollars due to the special effects.

The review on the Official Web Site somehow compares this to Vertigo, and IMDB lists "nanotechnology" as one of the plot keywords.

Um, what?

"Special Appearance Tippi Hedren"
my guess? they just knock at her door with a hidden cam pretending to be Jeovah's Witnesses, and a short clip of her saying "no thanks, i'm happy with my religion" appears after the end credits

super!

from the imdb user reviews:
"What if you fall in love with a person. And later found out that this person is dead, but that person's mind and spirit still exists in a computer and virtual reality. Can you still love this person? Can there be love without sex? How far will you go to find true love?"

this movie is more than i had visioned.

Well at least now we know why Tippi Hedren is in it.

I remember this film and trying to get a P.A. job on it. WTF is this doing on here? Anyway, yeah, tons of horrible films are made in the SF bay area.

I don't think full-body-swinging people over steep precipices is covered by movie insurance. just a guess.

btw - if the upgraded the camera a few notches, we'd be calling this mumblecore.

That's just terrible. Also, LIGHT METER! Get one, please.

As a side note, I popped my "Room" cherry this Saturday. It was amazing. Special appearance by Wiseau, and Drew Barrymore and Justin Long apparently went together, but I didn't see them.

This trailer reminds me of every relationship I've ever had with a person whom I later found out was dead but whose mind and spirit still exists within a computer and virtual reality FAIL.

The guy that directed this film is amazing. He's obsessed with Hitchcock. He just directed a Birds rip-off called "Birdemic".

The whole thing is clearly based on Vertigo - some of it even recreates shots exactly in the exact locations. This doesn't make it better, but it deserves to be mentioned.
