John Travolta Is The New Nicolas Cage

thumbnail icon: John Travolta Is The New Nicolas Cage

This is a picture of John Travolta in his new movie, Taking of Pelham 123, which some of you may recognize as a remake of the 1974 action-thriller starring Walter Matthau, and even more of you will probably recognize as a rhyme from the Beastie Boys song "Sure Shot." I'll post the trailer after the jump. But first let's just admire this picture. We are in rare air here. This is Bangkok Dangerous-caliber stupidface. It's like that old expression, Nicolas Cage in Bangkok Dangerous + time = comedy. In other words, comedy + time = more comedy. I mean, I guess if you saw a guy like this at a bar you would be scared of him, but only because you're at a gay bar and you're a bigot.

I hope this movie wins the Academy Award for Costume Design because comedies are always underappreciated.

In other news: Mayor James Gandolfini makes me really want to watch the Sopranos again. That show was so good, I can't believe it got canceled because no one watched it.

Has Denzel Washington ever not been a hostage negotiator? Silly rabbit.

He's not a hostage negotiator; he's a civil-service employee.

I can't believe this post escaped a Face/Off reference

I know! I'm glad somebody said it! I already can't take him seriously, but when he's a villain, he's always laughable. Face/Off was terrible! This movie will be, too.

Why is John Travolta still making movies? Can you imagine a woman that ugly being hired -- even to play an ugly woman? Would never happen.

This doesn't look nearly as hilarious as the original, half-gallon of milk or no.

the only positive I can pull out of that is atleast EITS are getting paid for the x1,0000,00000,000000 usage of their songs in a movie trailer.
