It's Life, Jump Into Life, With Carrie Brownstein And James Mercer

Some Days Are Better Than Others trailer, you guys:

Whoa. Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney, grandpa) and James Mercer (The Shins, grandma) might be keeping it TOO real. It's like 500 Days of Siren Fest. Get it? Music. Or maybe it's more like Breaking the Shins? I don't know. But this looks OK. Standard Mumblecore. A little precious. Quiet. Pretty. And it's important for people to keep stretching themselves and not get locked into some pre-conceived notion of what they're capable of, you know? This is basically indie rock Space Jam.

Emphasis on "mumble." And not knowing what to do with your hands because you're new to acting.

If it's anything like Space Jam, I'll be there on day one.

An hour and a half of morose white people being morose and white? I'll be there with bells on my skinny jeans.

Was that a Zoloft commercial? All that's missing is the sad rock.

You bet he does! Especially "Caring is Creepy," even though it was on the Garden State soundtrack and so was everywhere for a while.

OK, I'm an unabashed Carrie/SK fan, but even I couldn't help but cringe a little (a LITTLE) watching that trailer. What is happening!?

It makes me kinda sad that my beloved Carrie is a part of this. Even my extreme fandom/crush can see through the mediocrity...

I'm going to see it. I was pretty much sold with Carrie Browstein and it looks like it's set in the Pacific Northwest, maybe Astoria, which is perfect for the genre. And most of all, I really need to know what was donated that shouldn't have been donated.

It was filmed in Portland and the Oregon coast. I'll see it too because it makes me feel special to see places I see every day on a screen.

Yeah, being a filmmaker from the Portland area, it's always really nice to see Oregon movies get made. Being a huge Sleater-Kinney fan, I am on board for anything involving Carrie Brownstein.

But sorry, this just does not look that good. Prove me wrong, movie! Please.

You should do a "Worst Movie of All Time" write-up the day it comes out. It will be like the opposite of when movies go straight-to-Criterion for the DVD release.

Impressive! Do you guys all have Harvey Weinstein on your speed dial Power Lunch iPhone App so you can dial him from your Mom's basement? Make your own movie, then. I'm serious! Go for it. Like y'all never had your heartbroken. Also impressive! C'mon, people - sincerity takes a lot of heart. It's why Louis CK and Zach Galifanakis make you laugh.

I love S-K and The Shins. But this is honestly one of the worst movie trailers I've ever seen. Like, if this is the dialogue they're putting in the trailer, how bad must the rest of it be?

I think Space Jam is a worthy comparison, judging by how unwatchable the trailer is.
