Being Jean Claude Van Damme

Every time that I think someone playing themselves in a movie as a post-modern meta-ironic send up of their own public persona is a played out stunt that's being used in the place of actual ideas, someone comes along and plays themselves in a movie as a post-modern meta-ironic send up of their own public persona and it's totally great. The movie JCVD in which a down on his luck Jean Claude Van Damme decides to hold a bank hostage has been floating around for awhile internationally, picking up great reviews. A new trailer went online this weekend, and it went on Videogum after the jump.

Opening weekend, you guys. You and me.

Wow, it's the first JCVD movie I've wanted to see since Bloodsport. I expected so much more suckage.
