Tim And Eric Awesome Tour 2008

thumbnail icon: Tim And Eric Awesome Tour 2008

Tim and Eric of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job and Tim and Eric Night Live performed at the Highline Ballroom in New York last night as part of their Tim and Eric Awesome Tour 2008. It was a "lavish" stage production featuring clips from season 3, musical numbers, a smoke machine, one hamburger costume, and a tray of hot dogs. Oh, and wall-to-wall comedy nerds. If I were a rich man, I would spend a large portion of my wealth following Tim and Eric around the country, offering their audience hair cuts, skin care products, and clean clothing.

The best planned portion of the evening was probably DJ Dougg Pound's opening set. He crushed it on the ones and twos. And by crushed it I mean made terrible (read: great) 'knock knock' jokes and then played his DJ bumper over and over again (IN THE MIX! [explosion sound]).

But the actual best part of the show was not DJ Dougg Pound, or the hamburger costume, or the tray of hot dogs. It was when Tim and Eric came out to do their Papa John's bit, which I have embedded below but it's horrible quality and not for everyone (anyone). Basically, they came out wearing Papa John's polos, carrying two pizzas, and proceeded to throw pizza at the audience. Not into the audience, at the audience. Like, at their face. Sure. It was just like GG Allin's on-stage urination, except the urine was made of pizza. But the best part was the kid right behind me, who said this:

"Oh man, no way. No way. Those are pizzas? No way. They're throwing them. Dude, they're throwing them into the audience. I want one. I want some pizza! Oh man. No way. That's pizza, dude. I want some pizza. I want it. I want a pizza. You've got to be kidding me. No way, man. OVER HERE! Oh man. I want some. This is unreal, that's pizza up there."

That kid was the best part of the whole show. I hope his parents appreciate him living in their basement and don't just take it for granted.

Tim and Eric Papa John's bit filmed in St. Louis in November, 2007 on a HD camera phone:

A piece of pizza hit my chest and I did not find myself scrambling to either eat it or keep it as a souvenir.

There were lots of single gentlemen at this show!
