Videogum.com, Now With Fewer Predators And Identity Thieves

The Office was not very funny last night. Let's just say they could have been a little cooler and considerate about their jokes. TOO SOON, The Office.

http://www.officegum.com. I'm so good at video editing. I'm pretty sure that I'm getting the Oscar next year. It's going to be between me and Narnia, and Narnia are living in a fantasy world if they think they can get it.

You can think that it wasn't funny all you want (while I'll view it as one of the best this season), but this episode gave us the BEST Toby moment ever, a long-time-coming creepy Creed one-liner (I've missed those, dearly), a non-suicide-watch Michael and an uncharacteristic yet brilliant Dwight moment. That's grounds to call it a great one in my book, for having a good balance against the constant "woe-is-me" Michael & Dwight stuff.

Gabe

Hi everyone, Gabe here.

Last night's episode of The Office was really funny.

Please watch the video to get the jokes. And PAY ATTENTION. Or don't, I guess. It's up to you.

I think the episode was pretty strong overall. But I've got to take issue with one particular joke: When Jim asks Oscar to help him speak to the cleaning ladies, assuming they wouldn't know how to speak English. The first problem here is that, as far as I can tell, we're still supposed to like Jim, right? Or at least view him as a voice of reason amidst a bunch of crazy/stupid people? That he would make that assumption is a bit odd for the character, I think. But, what's even weirder is that he wound up being right -- the cleaning ladies only spoke Spanish. It occurred to me a few minutes later that they'd gone against the whole point of the show, right there in that one scene -- the M.O. has always been to poke fun at people who perpetuate silly stereotypes, and in this instance, the writers (or at least Jim) became the ones perpetuating them.
