Twilight: The Yahoo! Answers Reviews Are In

thumbnail icon: Twilight: The Yahoo! Answers Reviews Are In

Why get your movie reviews from critics, when you can go to Yahoo! and type in "Was Twilight good?" This was pretty much the only thing I've seen or read that makes me curious about the movie:

One of the funniest scenes is at the beginning, when Bella first meets Edward in Biology. She walks by a fan, that blows her scent straight at Edward -- and his reaction is priceless. Eyes wide, his hand flies up over his mouth as if to keep from gagging, and he is rude in his obvious avoidance of her -- the entire audience is laughing, because we know what he's thinking. I'm not sure that someone who hadn't read the books would have understood it as well, though.

Unintentional laughs are the only reason I'd see this, so I can't wait to do so three months from now! Or, more likely, on Netflix.

Saw it at an advance screening last night (for work!) and the entire audience was laughing throughout, and I don't think it was out of sheer giddiness. The best part though, came when the two main characters were about to kiss and a mom in the front row let out an audible "Ungh." Best comedy of the year.

That sounds hilarious. Nominate that woman for Mom of the Year!

When I saw it, there was a group of old people in the back. I think that one of them had tourettes or something wrong because he kept making really loud sounds. At first people were yelling at him, but I don't think he was doing it on purpose.
Then at the kissing scene, one of them stood up and started yelling at the screen, like "No! Don't do that! She's a nice girl!"
Why would someone take a group of old people to see a movie about a teenage girl in love with a vampire?

YES I'm going to hate-watch this in about an hour. I hope the unintentional laughs are plentiful!

UHHHH. I was in tears almost the whole time. The acting is so bad that you just can't help but laugh.

Whoa, is this on the level of a Hunt For The Worst Movie contender?

It could be. The dialogue, faces that the actors made, and special effects (especially the super-speed and "glowing" Edward) were all terrible. But it was HILARIOUS! I went with my friend who is Twilight-obsessed and we were laughing loudly at all the "serious" moments. In fact, even some of the hard-core fans in Twilight t-shirts couldn't help laughing at some of the most ridiculous parts.

i nominate this film for comedy of the year. it amazes me that people have been complimenting the cinematography. it was terrible! the awkward closeups, the random spinning around the actors. the dialogue was the best though 'climb on spider monkey!'

'this is the skin of a killer!" ~sparkle glitter dazzle~

It was hysterical! Definitely a WMoaT contender. There was a part when, to illustrate a native american origin story, they dressed all the vampire actors up in carnival-caliber old timey photoshoot clothes and had them growl and look menacingly bloodthirsty in an overwrought sepia tint. Also all the vampires looked like albinos who had just been force fed powdered donuts. The lady in front of me turned around to glare at me for laughing and ruining her Twilight experience.

Most of my freinds and I have all read the books and loved them, but i mean ovbiously the movie couldn't compare to the book, and also I had heard some bad things about it, so when I went to see it last Friday I had way low expectations, and I was surprised that it wasn't that bad. I was really glad and we went to go see it two days later; even more excited than the first time because we knew it wasnt terrible. Seeing it for the second time I it noticed alot more of the faults. Kirsten Stewart was just reallly weird at some of he parts. "Whattt- Why uh noe whatt -- are you youuuuu can;ttt i-i-iii " That was really strange. Other than that, well cast but it could have benifieted from being longer; and also if you hadn't read the book I doubt that you'd like it or enjoy it as much.(Trust me, the last time i went with my sister, who hadnt read the book but had been interested from what i'd told her. On certain scenes where everyone would laugh at some personal "you just had to read the book" jokes, she would whisper to me "I dont get it?" And I could tell it was a little wierd for her. She was probably one of the only people who had never seen the movie.) But if you had read it, expecting it to be amazing would ruin the book. I've seen it three times and I have no doubt its because I was preparing myself for it to be exceptionally terrible.

Some of the parts were also really akward; like the "My monkey man!' Part i was just like,,,uhhhhh? Really?! Was that necessary. And the part where it was robert pattinson was singing in the background i couldnt help but crack up it was so terrible. Also, I've read twilight like 8 times and I didn't even notice that he was playing bellas lullaby until i was like ooh this song is kinda pretty and she was like duhh its bellas lullaby.and i was like noooo...isnt it like some old song and she was like No and i was like but it wasnt written for the movie, I swear ive heard it before, then it showed the part where edward played it on the piano and i was like oohhh i guess it is.. It was really disappointing that you wouldn't have known the significance of the song if you hadn't read the book first.
