I'm Not As Mad Men As You Drunk I Am

thumbnail icon: I'm Not As Mad Men As You Drunk I Am

I've never seen an episode of Mad Men, because I'm bad at my job and a bad person and don't care about things that are good and would rather just watch old reruns of Fart In My Mom's Mouth. But people have been talking about it enthusiastically since it debuted last year, and I read the whole New York Times Magazine article like it was an article about something important (Darfur), so now I'm at least curious. I'll tell you one thing, this show about advertising executives in the early '60s definitely knows how to sell itself (I'm a good writer and should probably win a Pulitzer Prize for writing).

If you're like me and you haven't seen it, AMC has put the entire pilot episode up on-line and you can watch it after the jump.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Well, now my eyes smell like cigarettes and I'm a womanizing racist. So I have no choice BUT to keep watching. The new season of Mad Men premieres on AMC July 27th.

It's actually really great! Looking forward to the new season. If you have Time Warner, the entire season is on one of those free on-demand channels. "Free Movies On-Demand" or something like that. Do your job and catch up, son.

lol omg i read that NYT magazine article too just because the magazine layout and cover compels you to. even if i didn't give a shit about a single thing they wrote about i still would have ended up reading atleast half of the magazine. i'm going to rent the season 1 dvd.

It's only below The Wire, for me, in terms of greatest TV shows of all time, and also in terms of shows that everybody hyperbolically overrates and thus you feel like the kid who went with his sister to the Prom* if you haven't seen them.

*that so wasn't me, it was just an example, seriously.

surfthechannel.com

has the entire first season.

It's a fascinating show, on many levels. If you're aghast at the sexism, racism, on-the-job drinking, and screwing around, pick up some history books.

Obviously, it goes to an extreme end of the spectrum, but they didn't make that shit up.

The entire cast must have cancer by now. Seriously..as authentic as they make the set I can't see how they get away with making people smoke that much. Is there such a thing as a prop cigarette?
