SNL Just The Funny Parts: Justin Timberlake Is Very Talented

thumbnail icon: SNL Just The Funny Parts: Justin Timberlake Is Very Talented

No matter how one feels about Justin Timberlake, when you watch him host SNL, you can't help but judge most celebrities who do the same job without having to memorize choreography and songs for nearly every sketch. JT basically makes most of his peers look like lazy, cue-card mumbling in-phoners, and last night was no different, though there were too many repeated sketches, like the Barry Gibb talk show. Justin was such a pro last night that I'm officially forgiving him for stealing Paul Rudd's thunder when Rudd hosted last fall. Here are the five funniest moments.

5. The Monologue:

4. The part of Weekend Update that had the Manny Ramirez joke and the Gyllenhaal/Saarsgard jokes:

3. The Mom Translator:

2. The Dick In A Box Sequel, Motherlovers, starring Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson:

1. Cornelius Timberlake Comes To America:

Next week: the season finale with Will Ferrell. That one should probably be pretty okay, too.

The fact that Justin Timberlake can actually be funny kinda makes me hate him more.
Bastard.

Really no love for the Barry Gibb Talk Show? Maybe it was the fact that it hadn't been on in a while, but I thought is was pretty damn funny. Also, the Spitzer/Patterson combo on update was really hilarious.

Can't watch Motherlovers without feeling ill now that my friend told me what the loose pastrami sandwiches they are eating are supposed to symbolize.

Timberlake was basically a cast member considering how much he was on this year (which got to be annoying), but damn, this episode. He was so good at life during it. He was basically painting, exercising, playing ping pong, playing the part of random keyboardist in Ciara's band, and being awesome.

Also Barry Gibb? I'd love just because Fallon got Timberlake to break while keeping a straight face. Never dreamed I'd see that.

I don't even care that a lot of it was just revisited old sketches, my mediocre face was still cracking up.

how can anyone find this funny anymore? this was the WORST EPISODE OF SNL EVER! you should change the name to SNL: just the almost watchable parts. it was fucking brutal watching this the other night. the mom translator? what the fuck? why is that on here? the barry gibb talk show was much better. fuck justin timberlake, he's not funny. i hope someone at NBC realizes this and bans him from SNL, although he can't make the show any worse. all their skits are shit now. i've got an idea for one. the guys are dressed as dogs and go out to get bitches. is that funny? no, not really but it's better than 6 macgruber episodes and a song by shakira.

"Craate & Baareyhl" is my kind of humor. Hilarious.

And damn if "Mother Lover" isn't one catchy tune. I triple dog dare you to get it out of your head.

WHAT?!?! When did Justin Timberlake become funny? I usually don't agree with trollers and the like but Mant, poop and even nightheat - even though NH took it a little too far - are correct. Timberlake is enthusiastic about comedy and he can sing but he is not a funny person, he is a goofy person. Goofy shouldn't be hosting SNL, goofy should be home getting a few "aw shucks" from his girlfriend. I mean, are we still laughing at "Bring It On Down to ____ville"? Oh yeah, you are.

Is Timberlake aiming to be a part of the cast? The only difference between he and Lindsay Lohan exposure is that he bathes. I thought these apparences stem from having to promote something. So what is it Timberlake? You already brought sexyback tell me what the sexy is back doing and will it stick around? Or because I haven't heard that song in a while, sexy is on a vacation?!

(And yes I chuckled at mediocre face.)

justin timberlake is a pro simply because he actually learns his lines for the show. but that's it. he's not funny. at all. and his musical act is a minstrel show. he is one of the luckiest people on the planet. oh, and i hate his hair.

overall, the show was one of the worst, filled with lazy repeat sketches. the only actual laughs were the pre-taped bits. truly sad for a live show.

I don't get it, maybe it's me. He incredibly unfunny to me. I won't judge anyone's sense of humor but in 1 year he'll be Dane Cook. You'll all be hiding the fact that you thought he was hilarious.

i wouldn't go as far as saying that JT is talented but he is definitely a good comedian. i even think he's better as a comic actor than as a musician.
