SNL Just The Funny Parts: Bradley Who And TV On The Radio

thumbnail icon: SNL Just The Funny Parts: Bradley Who And TV On The Radio

Bradley Cooper knows that he's the bad guy from Wedding Crashers. He knows he's the least famous star among He's Just Not That Into You's cast of thousands. But he got to host SNL this weekend, and he was just fine, but unfortunately overshadowed by the best Weekend Update since Amy Poehler left. The five funniest parts, and both of TV On The Radio's performances, after the jump.

5. Bradley Cooper's Monologue was cute and endearing. Whoever he is, he seems like a really down-to-earth kind of guy. (Also, a "celebrity" cameo by someone who is on every late night show, every night these days.)

4. Weekend Update: Mark Spitz On Michael Phelps:

3. Weekend Update: Bjork On The Economy A lot funnier than it sounds:

2. Lonely Island's Video For "I'm On A Boat" Feat. T-Pain:

1. Really? With Seth: A Defense Of Michael Phelps:
"I knew some guys named Snap, Crackle and Pop and they were drug dealers":

(Boycott Kelloggs!)

TV On The Radio:

"Golden Age":

"Dancing Choose":

"the best Weekend Update since Amy Poehler left"

Coincidence?

Do you realized that two things have to happen for them to coincide?

Woah tuning.

I think Seth is actually really solid at Update and that his solo work is better than the stuff he and Amy Poehler did. Poehler is great at sketch, but on Update she recalled Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon too much, a duo that started out great, but got really annoying.

Love Tina Fey, just don't love her on SNL.

Oh, and TV On The Radio were pretty average.

TV On the Radio is usually better than that. The mix was poor, I think.

The mix was terrible on Golden Age, but they sounded a bit better on Dancing Choose.

The T.V. on the Radio performances weren't very good.

(its not their fault, SNL is known for thier dodgy sound)

So, not to be a nerd or anything, but if you take an NBC studio tour they tell you that the SNL studio used to be a recording studio for radio way back when. I specifically remember the page saying that it is designed for the best acoustics possible, and that if your favorite band didn't sound good...it's because they don't sound good. Just saying.

I remember this guy as Jack Bourdain on the TV adaptation of Anthony Bourdain's book Kitchen Confidential. I liked the show but being on fox, it didn't last very long. Anyway, I really liked this SNL. oh and they have kitchen confidential on hulu http://www.hulu.com/kitchen-confidential

Lindsay, you're in danger of having your Comedy Nerd card revoked if you didn't recognize Bradley Cooper as Amy Poehler's gay sidekick in Wet Hot American Summer (he was also in a really funny Stella short from back in the day).

"I'm On A Boat" was the best thing that has happened on SNL this season

the game show "i'll have sex with your wife" was one of the more subversive things SNL has done in sometime and featured some very strong face reactions. Bradleey Cooper was a good host, cuz he's an actual grerat actor who relished his oppurtunity to be on here and he did great, cuz he is great. And that was the best Seth did because he was actually sincere and non-jokey as he always is.... but you really should've known who Bradley Cooper was.

What. The. Fuck.
I just knew it. I knew once I opened this post I wouldn't be able to see my FAVOURITE ARTIST EVER being parodied, all because I'm from Canada. This isn't a new complaint, Lindsay. It's getting very frustrating.
Anyone know a different website I can watch them?

Google "Hotspot Sheild" and download/install it. Then use it. It is kind of spammy, but only when it is being used.

Yeah, i'm having the same problem. All the other videos (and accompanying audio) work fine except for "Golden Age." Mine cuts off at the same part, and i tried reloading the page a couple times to no avail.

Bradley Cooper taking it from the back from Michael Ian Black in the sports shed with tube socks is the best scene in any movie ever.

Bjork, Really?! and The Digi Short were honsetly the only funny parts. I'm the biggest SNL defender but this season has been awful.

TLI guys (Jorm, Kiv, Andy), Kristen, and Bill, if you're reading this: GET YOUR OWN SHOW! You guys are too funny.

Bjork and Mark Spitz? Weak. And there was also a 6 minute sketch mocking the Today Show. Take that kathie lee. SNL is so edgy.

Wow, it's like SNL did an Eagle Eye and took the exact words out of my mouth from Friday when I said the exact same things about that dick.

Also, I missed SNL except for TV On The Radio's performances, and I was wondering why I was singing "I'm On A Boat" all today. Guess I gotta go pick up Incredibad tomorrow.

I love Kristen Wiig, especially when she does Bjork. Seth Meyer's "Really?!" line about the guy taking the picture of Phelps was basically the awesomest.

The audio cut out for me, too, on Golden Age.

SNL has gone way down, I think it's the writers or something because It's just horrible sketches. The only thing that is a standby is weekend update. I think SNL is repeating what it happened in the early 80s, great guests and cast but no great sketches.

Why is no one mentioning the fact that Bradley Cooper was also in WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER as the counselor who did musical theatre with Amy Poehler AND banged Michael Ian Black in the shed?

Get McKinley laid, indeed.

Bradley Cooper is and always will be Will Tippin: http://www.alias-tv.com/will.html

I love love LOVE Amy Poehler, but I never thought she was a good Weekend Update anchor. While I loved the idea of Tina and Amy together, the execution hardly ever worked. Both of Seth's Weekend Updates since Amy left have been far funnier than anything when Amy was on. Have I mentioned how much I love Amy, though?

How do you not know Bradley Cooper? Obviously you've never seen the late-era Stella short in which he rakes leaves with the suddenly ubiquitous Elizabeth Banks. DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT IS???

Also, I kept waiting for that Lonely Island clip to get funny. It didn't. In fact, I've been waiting for the Lonely Island get funny, period. Earn a paycheck, The Lonely Island.

come on dudes, don't blame the tvotr's horrid performance on SNL's sound. the instruments aren't tuned, kyp can't sing for shit.. they just aren't a good live band. That's what happens when your entire act depends on big production and almost no songwriting talent.
