SNL: Just The Funny Parts: Anne Hathaway Kills

thumbnail icon: SNL: Just The Funny Parts: Anne Hathaway Kills

Whoa, leave it to a pro like Annie Hathaway to host the best episode of SNL since her Get Smart co-star Steve Carell showed us how it was done in last spring's season finale. Looking around the internet, everyone's all "Tina Fey as Sarah Palin at the debate!" and "Mark Wahlberg talks to animals!", both funny sketches. But my favorite sketch from this episode isn't even on the internet (well, it is now.) The top five after the jump.

1. Sioux City Local News: America's Most YouTubed News Team (now louder than earlier!):

2. Tina Fey as Sarah Palin at the debate (with guest Queen Latifah):

3. Mark Wahlberg Talks To Animals (Especially relevant since The Happening comes out on DVD tomorrow!)

4. Mary Poppins spreads an STD with an atrocious name:

5. Kristen Wiig is the weak link in this Lawrence Welk Sister Act:

That last one didn't completely do it for me personally because Kristen Wiig's "outrageous retard" characters are beginning to grate, god love her, but a lot of people disagree. Anne Hathaway was the best, wasn't she? I think she has the comic chops to one day be the Alec Baldwin of chick SNL hosts.

I laughed a lot at the "Extreme Activities Competition" digital short, too.

I did love the Mark Wahlberg sketch, but I fear it's the kind of thing they'll kill by redoing it too often or soon. (Line of the night: http://tinyurl.com/4v55yb)

I didn't think the Lawrence Welk sketch was funny until they showed Kristen's baby arms. Always good for a laugh. Can Fred Armisen be fired yet?

I liked that baby hands bit too...When it was done 2 years ago and infinitely funnier by Jon Glaser from Conan.

Agreed on both the Fred Armisen & "Tiny Hands" counts. I also liked Will Forte's vote count song, not so much the Katy Perry parody (poor, sweet Casey Wilson). Pretty good episode, all said.

I agree on the Will Forte vote count song. That made me laugh the hardest. It was a great episode for sure though.

can someone please talk more about how insanely shitty Casey Wilson is, she's always trying too hard and never funny. I get aggressive just watching her because she sucks SO bad

it's basically the Kristin Wiig show

"outrageous retard" LOLOLOLOL
I'm going to use that phrase ALL the time now on people. "I'm getting a little tired of Katey in Accounting's outrageous retard act."

Anne Hathaway was really funny hosting. I agree, she definitely has the range to be the female Alec Baldwin.

that was a good epy. Anne is a natural at sketch comedy. And can I just say how much I LOVED the lawrence welk skit. I have watched it several times, and I still crack up. "was that a bad thing to do-do-do-do"

Love the first clip.... why does Christopher Smalls yell out, "I'm gay! I'm gay!" at the end. It's so absurd....and awesome!
