30 Rock: What Does Liz Lemon Want?

I know Liz Lemon is supposed to be a cartoonish exaggeration of a single career woman, but from these two scenes from last night's 30 Rock, are we supposed to come away thinking Liz Lemon hates sex or is asexual or something? It seems like it:

(Bad editing is me, not the show, btw.) So is Liz Lemon the new Morrissey? (You know, because Morrissey loves lying around in his comfies reading celebrity gossip on the internet.) But seriously (or "seriously"), is this a setup for someone sweeping her off her feet? (Like Jack?)

It seems like everyone is excited about the possibility of romance between Jack and Liz. Am I the only one who thinks it's sort of lame? Do they really have to be the new Big and Carrie? Barf! I mean if anyone is gonna pull of the implausible it's 30 Rock, but it's really far fetched not to mention obvious. Hopefully the throw away line about Liz having a crush on Jack and is currently "getting over it" from last night's episode will be the end of the discussion.

It would ruin the show if they ever actually got together in any way, but I think they know that. I think all the references are parodying other sitcoms.

I don't see how it was a set-up for anything. He pretended that he had agoraphobia (sp?) so he was like her ideal man. It was just supposed to be funny.

No but see how paring down Liz to be the "sad, single, career-woman" could be setting her up to be swept off her feet? And see how it could be Jack because of how he's always giving her dating advice? Ugh. I hope Lindsay is right and that it never happens. It should be Bill Murray! There. I fixed it. Done.

or Jon Hamm, if the rumours are true.

I thought what she said was really sweet. And mature. Recognizing that the best relationships aren't the honeymoon phase face-sucking marathon - I mean yeah, she made it sound a little sad, but being 100% yourself with someone is just about the best.

After pizzatinis and hooking Bass.

Nah, Liz and Jack is never going to happen. The writers are much to smart to bring them together. They won't run out of ideas that easily.
