Lipstick Jungle Is Looking For Extras This Week!

thumbnail: Lipstick Jungle Is Looking For Extras This Week!

Lipstick Jungle, the Emmy-robbed hour-long drama about four Manhattan women with fancy careers who still manage to put shopping with friends first that, unlike Sex And The City, isn't a big hit but unlike Cashmere Mafia is still on the air, is looking for extras. Videogum readers, please do this:

Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking extras to work in a Halloween party scene for the NBC show "Lipstick Jungle". This will be shooting Tuesday 8/12 and you must be available all day. We are looking for people to bring their own costumes. When submitting please write Halloween in subject line and include a pic along with your contact #. Any pic of yourself is fine but a picture in costume would be helpful. We are avoiding character costumes such as Star Wars, Batman, Superman, etc.

Suggested (group costume): the Sex And The City girls, of course.

We Just Think It, But Maria Bamford Says It

Via CC Insider, genius comic Maria Bamford calls out 99% of "women's comedy" with a few well-placed words. "I'm empty inside I'm a husk I can't feel my hands!" She's like the Carlos Mencia of funny comedians:

How awesome would it be if they hired Maria to run the Sex And The City tour?

The Emmy Nominations Are Out And Lipstick Jungle Got Robbed!

thumbnail: The Emmy Nominations Are Out And Lipstick Jungle Got Robbed!

So the Emmy nominations were announced today, and a wave of shock and hurt is passing over the internet, as Lipstick Jungle, "The one with Brooke Shields" and "The greatest television program ever" received not one single nomination.

Despite a campaign by NBC that included this masterfully-designed political style button that was sure to sway the votes of every Emmy voter who glimpsed it on a fan's lapel, the gritty, eye-opening drama about the delicate ecosystem of institutions and individuals, such as Louis Vuitton and Brooke Shields, and the surprising ways they impact one another and the city of New York, was suspiciously overlooked by the academy. While fans mourn this tragic oversight by Emmy voters, who are either sexist or opposed to edgy things or just don't get it, we look forward to Season 2 of "The Jungle," as it's known to fans. In keeping with the show's unique seasonal focus on a particular aspect of the city (Season 1 was "The Shoes"), the next season will take us on a journey of discovery as the show explores "The Handbags." If Season 1 was any indication, viewers will find themselves surprised by how deeply creator Candace Bushnell, who based the series on a friend who spent years in the shopping trenches, can make us care about something as boring and mundane-seeming as handbags.

But there is some justice! Both Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer received nominations for Two And A Half Men, which was also nominated for Best Comedy Series.

The Goofs Are In: The Top 5 Mistakes In Sex And The City: The Movie

thumbnail: The Goofs Are In: The Top 5 Mistakes In Sex And The City: The Movie

It's always a special moment when IMDB updates a new movie's page to include goofs sent in by viewers. For Sex And The City: The Movie, that moment came this week, when the hastily-made estro-sploitation flick was subjected to the not-so-rigorous examination of its audience. IMDB's SATC goofs are just okay, though, so I polled friends about the movie's mistakes, most of which fall into the "That would never happen!" category. After the jump, the top five mistakes that pulled shopping romance fantasy escapists out of their Mexicomas and into the harsh light of a Meatpacking District walk of shame.

Three Pirated Clips From Sex And The City: The Movie

thumbnail: Three Pirated Clips From Sex And The City: The Movie

Thanks to Gay Men's Social Crisis, I now know what I was missing by turning down a group field trip to a 4:20 showing of Sex And The City: The Movie on Saturday, besides 2.5 hours of my life. After the jump, three pirated clips shot in the theater and complete with "inappropriate" laughter and "this is retarded" commentary. It kind of makes me wish I did see it, but with these guys. Is a spoiler alert even necessary at this point?

Remember: You Don't Have To See The Sex And The City Movie

thumbnail: Remember: You Don't Have To See The Sex And The City Movie

On Monday when everyone at your office is talking about the plot turns of Sex And The City: The Movie, you won't have to just stare at your Payless BOGO mock-leather flats in shame because you can't participate in such conversations as "Can you believe Miranda caused (blank)" and "What was up with Charlotte (blanking) in her (blanks)?" Last week, a secret hate-watching angel spoiled all the parts of the movie that weren't on the internet yet and it's right here. Enjoy your two and a half hours off!

Sex And The City Is Actually Okay (If You Watch It On TBS)

thumbnail: Sex And The City Is Actually Okay (If You Watch It On TBS)

So last night I was over at a friend's house and she suggested we watch an episode of Sex And The City on TBS. So we did. And it was...good? I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. The friendships were believable, the plot was thought-provoking, and there was a strange absence of bad puns. As I walked home from the subway I pondered this bizarre occurrence. I know I must have hate-watched every episode of SATC over the years on HBO. Why would watching it on TBS make it better? And then, an epiphany:

This Is It: The Sex And The City Movie Spoiled For Real And Completely

I've been asking for someone to break the Sex And The City Movie Vast Conspiracy Of Silence Squealing for what seems like the past five years, and finally an angel has come through. I just got done instant-messaging with a fellow SATC hate-watcher who saw the movie last night and answered every question I had, on condition of anonymity. If you don't want to know every single plot point that matters, and the ending, don't follow the jump!
