The Soup Watches Judge Shows So We Don't Have To Commit Suicide

thumbnail icon: The Soup Watches Judge Shows So We Don't Have To Commit Suicide

When it comes to court shows with judges on TV, I will say the worst and cruelest thing anyone can say about any television show or type of television show: "No thanks, I would rather be alone with my thoughts." (BURN!) But as we know from The Soup, court shows are inexplicably popular and occasionally funny. Anyway, there's a new segment on The Soup called "Gavel-banging" that's only about court shows, and while I wouldn't want to be the person who has to watch them to find these clips, okay, this is funny. Dumb ladies represent (yourselves):

FACT: women who appear on judge shows (or whatever, I'm clearly having trouble naming this type of television) are not smart.

I saw an episode of People's Court way back in the Judge Wapner days when I was a kid where some guy sued another guy for defamation of character because he called him "numb nuts" on his answering machine. The guy getting sued brought his wife into court to testify that numb nuts was actually a term of affection in their family. It was the funniest shit ever.

I was once waiting for a wheel realignment and tire change on my car back when I lived in Texas and had to sit in the lobby of the repair shop for about 2 hours. The only thing they had on was daytime court shows. It was painful. Meanwhile some mother yelled at her child and was yanking him out to the car, causing him to fall over and bash his head on the gravel. Bleeding ensued.

Basically, daytime court shows make little kids bleed blood from their heads. This is serious stuff.

Did anyone else see the episode of Judge Judy that featured John Lydon get sued by one of his old drummers? I think it's on Youtube somewhere...

i completely agree Sir Benjamin. The soup is an absolutely dreadful show. I get enough of popular culture listening to NPR, you know?

What's sad is that I watch enough Tyra(nt) to immediately recognize that woman from the Bunny Ranch.

I first learned of Air Force Amy (Ms. Twitchy) from flyers that littered Grant Park during Lollapalooza last summer. So few neuroses come across on 3x5 cardstock as well as they do on daytime TV.

One of several shows that consistently makes me guffaw.
Joel McHale is heelarious. so self deprecating
favorite is the leadin to "clip of the day"

I love it when she says "I think" at the end. And the first woman doesn't even take a breath. WTF is she even talking about?

I am pathetic because i recognized Air Force Amy from the picture before the jump. I have also watched Cathouse: The Musical . . . and I hate myself.
