America Needs This Celebrity Dancing Show
Saturday night brought the conclusion of a BBC series called Let's Dance For Comic Relief, a show where celebrities compete to jokily re-create famous dance sequences while simultaneously raising money for charity. Viewers called in and voted for their favorites, and Saturday, the winner was announced: Robert Webb from (among other things) the hilarious BBC show That Mitchell And Webb Look, who performed "What A Feeling" from Flashdance with a combination of skill, authenticity, and physical comedy. Here's his dance:
Oh, President Of Entertainment, if you're Googling yourself and reading this, please bring Let's Dance For Comic Relief to America. I want to see Patton Oswalt and Louis CK do the "Loverboy" dance from Dirty Dancing.

When I was but a child I was always told that British TV was the best in the world. But now 57 years later the only TV we do better than anyone else is cross-dressing dance contests. Whatever. Oh yeah. I was totally forgetting all those. You are right, they are mostly awesome. Although some of those are a few years old (And I only wish I could say that about Little Britain because that's got a terminal case of Family-Guy-itus. It's now so unfunny it's hard to believe it was ever good). No I won't but I wil swop you Patrick Kielty, Billy Connelly since the 80's and Davina McCall for Louis CK, Patton Oswald and Paul F. Tompkins. I thought we had a deal with swopping Russell Brand for Sarah Silverman but she screwed us with a 30 minute stand up? What gives?
And if you ever get a chance to see it (Assuming you haven't already) can I recomend Ideal? Thank you.

How about you take Jonathan Ross, keep Carson Daly and we're all square? I'm tempted to let you take Nick Frost for free too since I just saw Shaun Of The Dead again recently and must have managed to supress the memory of how frickin' annoying he got in that towards the end. But then he was Mike in Spaced (Spaced!) and that thing where he was a spaceship captain which was really good even though I can never remember the name of it and it had that guy in it with the curly hair and intense eyes who I saw pushing a pram through Jenners in Edinburgh just before the festival last year but it doesn't really count as a celebrity sighting since I don't know his name and had to intentify him as "that guy from that Nick Frost Show in space". So yeah. Spaced.

For a long time I thought the only thing that made Nick Frost funny was Pegg and Wright, but then I saw Man Stroke Woman ("...in my balls") and couldn't deny his great character acting.

That was it. I know I liked Man Stroke Woman but when I think of it now the only sketches I can remember are the ones where Meredith MacNeill and Nick Frost are trying to do sexy role play but she always takes it too seriously and kills the mood.

This is something I think about all the time, the Comedy Exchange Program.\
Also, think about this....what if The Mighty Boosh, The Lonely Island, and Flight of the Conchords joined forces. Not permanently, but for some sort of charity event or something (the charity being bringing joy to all of our lives). I think it would say something about world peace or something.....iunno, i haven't thought out the details other than the fact that I would hang out with all of them afterwords.

Ugh, please do not ever put The Mighty Boosh in the same sentence with Lonely Island. Fielding and Barratt have spent almost 10 years crafting the Boosh. They put time and thought into the every little detail of the TV show, the radio show, the live tour, the book, etc.

The Lonely Island has been crafting their work for 7 years. If you're going to judge their whole career by Jizz In My Pants, you're cutting yourself off from some amazing stuff. Even The Lonely Island Episodes and Awesome Town are fantastic, and those were long before they got hired on at SNL.

Not to mention University Challenge is the best quiz show I've ever seen, and by best I mean most stressful for me as a viewer, but that's basically the scale I use to judge if a show is good.
