Whitney Port's New Show To Occasionally Feature Whitney Port

Trailer for Whitney Port's new Hills spin-off, The City, you guys:

(via Dlisted)

Whitney Port lacks the intellectual capacity to pick the pepperoni off of an entire slice of pizza without getting distracted, much less carry an entire reality show. Which is made all the more obvious by this trailer that spends way more time dwelling on the side characters than on Whitney herself. Girl who makes futon jokes! Australian New York Justin Bobby! Angry young woman who wants to eat Whitney's face! They are the real stars, apparently. And enough of these Port Apologists who claim that she's far and away the most interesting, intelligent person on The Hills. Compared to whom? Lauren Conrad? A wadded up receipt for a pregnancy test from a Duane Reade found in the fifth pocket of a pair of thrift store jeans is far and away the most interesting, intelligent person compared to her. And jeans aren't even a person!

Who am I kidding. I am so excited for this show!

I'm starting to think I can't do this anymore. The Hills, for which I used to climb into the hammock with blankets and a glass of red wine like clockwork on premiere night, now sits rotting on my DVR until my friends (who btw are of my late-20's caste) pester me enough about it.

My friends think the show is VERY real, which is kind of fun for me, and weird at the same time, but mostly fun, because what can you do. I tried to have the "but how..wha..???" convo once, and it did NOT go over well.

Anyway, yes, I will be watching this fuck it.

Wow. I wonder if these girls realize that their success off TV is directly related to them being on TV. I bet the busy designer Whitney works for takes time out of her schedule to meet with Whitney and (apparently) discuss her romantic life. Lauren wants to quit TV? How long do you think it'll take her to reach obscurity, dwell there for a while, and then come crawling back to the quasi-celebrity of reality TV fame? Maybe she'll host Fashion Survivor in a few years.

On the other hand my girlfriend will watch this show and eventually I will as well. *sigh* can't wait...

whitney will fit right in in the fashion world of nyc.
all the girls who work behind the scenes in fashion there look exactly like her, and like each other, to such an extent that it's very difficult to tell them apart when you are working with them.
and they all have names like whitney and barkley and madison.
also, at least whitney is pretty. just saying. audrina's dead eyes and heidi's weird barbie head and Lo's just not-attractiveness are a trial, even for me, who doesn't have tv and never watches the episodes and only reads the recaps and sees the pictures in magazines.

I like Whitney the most because she doesn't show up everywhere just to be on camera like, let's say Stephanie Pratt does, and she's not completely starved for attention. BUT I would not call her the most interesting nor the most intelligent. Just a little bit better than the rest.

No joke, they mistakenly approached my bestie to be on that show because they saw her facebook profile and thought she was Whitney's long lost friend and whitney was all "yeah, that kind of looks like her" Full story: http://www.socialcrisis.net/tv-is-my-boyfriend/i-can-haz-besties-with-whitney-port/

I have to agree with Michael K of dlisted that they should have gone with their original title for Whitney's spinoff, which must have been "Hey, how was your weekend? OMG!"

Whitney always has the most vacuous expression on her face. I've never seen anyone who could not say a thing and LOOK so dumb.
