The Finale Of The Bachelor Will Be "Freakish"

thumbnail icon: The Finale Of The Bachelor Will Be "Freakish"

The New York Times has a story today about what a huge hit this season of The Bachelor is because the bachelor has a kid this time. And then, suddenly, there's this part:

[The show's producer] Mr. Fleiss promises that the finale will leave fans hyperventilating. "It's insane, honestly," he said. "It's Chayefsky-esque," he added, referring to the screenwriter Paddy Chayefsky. "The last hour is pure 'Network.' "

As in the movie "Network," written by Chayefsky, in which an anchorman loses his mind and viewers start screaming out their windows?

"I don't mean it's like his writing," Mr. Fleiss said. "I mean in the freakishness of it."

WTF? Anyone who watches this show knows that every final rose ceremony is touted as "the most romantic and/or emotional ever," so either this finale is truly special or they've run out of exaggerated ways to sucker us into watching. I just hope the "freakishness" doesn't involve that poor exploited little boy, like making him choose his new mommy or something. I've been semi-boycotting this season because every show is two hours and I can't justify that when I haven't even seen The Wrestler yet, but after these producer promises I'm going to have to tune in, if only to see what this Network shit is all about. Also, I've never "hyperventilated" because of a reality show, and life is about new experiences. One thing is (semi, maybe, possibly) "certain": Melissa wins.

Cute Chris Harrison (the host/genius paid to tap his champagne glass & tell the ladies who did not recieve a rose to "take a moment and say your goodbyes") is the only reason to watch the most dramatic episode of The Bachelor EVER.

he will have to choose between melissa and the returning diana, who picked a moron snowboarder over him on the bachlorette. this new bachlor, jason, has zero personality. he is a walking ken doll with an extremely limited vocabulay and an ego the size of seattle.

i actually was hyperventilating it was insanely insane! the things that had happened in the last few hours of the show will always be talked about in Bachelor history!
i for sure knew that jason and melissa were completely perfect for each other, but the decisions that had occured towards the end, and seeing that the had broken up 6 weeks later in sad. this season had been filled with more drama then ever! i personally feel sorry for jason now, because of his mind game and decisions in the end. i loved jason before but now i feel a little bit mad at him, because of how he hurt melissa in the worst way possible its just not right!

I honestly just think this whole thing started with Deanna not choosing jason in the end for the bachelorette, she followed the wild card, and when she came back for the final episode i thought that she had some inspiring words for jason. she said "Don't follow your heart, lead your heart" i thought that meant alot!

I personally just think now that this show is a waste of time and addicting to watch, and is full of insane drama. i think they should cancel the bachelor and bachelorette because its not worth all of the drama, and heartbreaking moments and people getting hurt.
