Matt The Bachelor And Shayne Lamas: London Never Calling Again, Changing Number

thumbnail icon: Matt The Bachelor And Shayne Lamas: London Never Calling Again, Changing Number

If you gave it six months, well, you're a hopeless romantic. In a story they probably had ready in the well, People reports today that Matt, star of The Bachelor: London Calling, has broken things off with Shayne Lamas, the 23-year-old daughter of Lorenzo Lamas who won the show in May. No doubt disappointed in their degree of post-engagement fame, the two have decided to strike out on their own:

"We tried hard to make it work but we realized that we were both heading in different directions," the two said in a statement to PEOPLE. "We truly care about each other and will remain close friends."

Next up for Shayne: a Stuff cover or her own version of The Bachelorette, or total obscurity. Next up for Matt: whoring around Hollywood in search of a slightly more famous young lady to whom to pop the question: "Will you be half of my D-list power couple?"

He should have picked the one that cried hysterically while singing a song she wrote for him. Nothing is more dorky than the name Shayne, except maybe Blayne, or Slayde.
